Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Soon to Tune suggestions..any help with do

    450cc injectors
    t3/t4 turbonetics
G22..wiseco 9:1 stroker pistons, crower billet rods
crome, ostrich, hondalog, naw7s wideband controller
    boost and oil pressure gauges
    street tuned

I am just getting my hand in tuning, so I not really concern about the hp I want to make even though it's 250-300..I am starting a 8 psi and working way up

I have been reading alot of my car, tuning, etc and I need some suggestions before i start tuning my car.

    1. Datalog current engine conditions before beginning...to have a baseline engine parameters
2.tuning out of boost before tuning in boost
    3. be converative with afr more on the rich side
    4. adjust map little by little because realtime data changes quickly with just a percentage of adjustment

here is my Target afr map
New paint job and bumper 8/8/11
    tsx retrofit
    f22b dohc boosted
    custom gauges pods

Motivation is one of the keys to life....tell me "can't" and I wll show you I can

You may want to start a bit richer in the higher boost columns. start with conservative timing and check your plugs. you should also consider dyno tuning once you can afford it.

thanks D...since you mentioned that...check this out...I have made some adjustment to the afr...I'm kinda going with stock h22 timing map and just tune for afr...I'm leaving the timing stuff alone for the dyno

def retard ignition for boost. I'm sure you know that though. you can be leaner at atmospheric pressure and into boost a bit. from what i have read many factory turbo cars run leaner ratios on into boost to help with fuel economy. I think that you sacrifice a bit of the timing you can run by doing so. do this at your own risk though.

thanks for you help...I think I will take it the safe way..and run richer safer since it is my first time...so it will leave room from error correction...Yeah I got the time retard on th h22 map

Remember that your target afr map doesn't do anything as far as tuning. It's just a reminder of what you should shoot for. Personally, to account for changes in weather, humidity, and an added safety factor anything after 6psi I was always 11.7:1 for me. I did it in steps the way you have shown. Furthermore, I tuned my tps to about a 13.1 under immediate full throttle for quick response. You can also increase the timing in the low boost columns to make the transistion from vac to boost more seamless.

If you email me at bigg_body_benz@yahoo.com I'll send you a g22 turbo map that used 450's and a t3/t4. Assuming I don't forget I posted this

              - if you are going to be tuning for 8psi, why not have a column for 8psi, i would add more columns

              - as already mentioned, 12.6 is too lean for boost, even 12.1 is a bit on the lean side IMO
(i usually shoot for mid 11s but my block is stock)

              - 450cc will be maxed out possibly before you get to 300hp unless you up the fuel pressure

Hey guys, an individual at pgmfi said that the first map was aggressive. Can you share some light of that...I think I know what he means but I need some thoughts from guys who have been tuning

I'm sure he means that your target ratios of 12.6:1 are on the lean side which puts more stress on the engine.
I think most guys tune to around 12.0 even with race gas (correct me if I am wrong)
I personally only like to see 11.X at wide open throttle, if I see 12.0 or leaner, I add fuel.

holy hell..two people i havent heard from in a while in this thread...lol

use boost functions in crome.. retard timing in boost by 1.00 degree.. should be safe enough... also at 0psi to 2-3psi i personally run it a lil lean.. high 12s low 13s.. just because u can hit those values all the time while just daily driving.. so why always have it WOT ready.. if when you do go WOT you sweep past those values like nothing anyway?

on built motors that are shooting for power i run up to 12.5afr with constant sparkplug monitoring.. but for a street cars or budget builds.. 12.0 in the meat of the powerband tapering down to 11.5 by redline...

If you were closer to me I would just tow you up to RLZ in NC and he can tune and chip your shit for $300. And he is THE BEST on the east coast.

I am probably going to rent his dyno so when I tune my new setup so I can try to pry some bits and pieces of information out of him. lol. Also he has a dynapack.

I have seen some well built and tuned setups come from RLZ.
