From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    F22B DOHC-p14 or p39?

alrighty, well im going to do an f22b dohc motor and tranny swap because my motor is old and tired and my tranny is slippin like an *inappropriate comment*. what i was wondering is, i have an h23 auto ecu (p14) and i want it chipped and tuned but will this give me more of a gain than a p39 ecu, or will it not be as efficient.

From what I read, the P14 is not chippable. You are better off with the P39 or unless you plan to modify than a chipped P06, PR4 etc...I know somebody that is selling a P39 if you are interested.

isnt the pt6 from an f22a6? why would u run a sohc ecu on a dohc f22b motor? im doing the f22b dohc head swap onto my a1. from what ive heard the p14 will run it. how hard is it to find a p39? i dont need the ecu chipped/tuned just yet so will the p14 be efficient? or should i try to find a p39? the head is all stock components for the mean time btw.

just take advice. p39 is a complete waste of money(previously owned one), and a p14 simply blows for retarding timing due to it not getting a knock sensor reading(dealt with a cb running this on an f22b). pt6 hands down.

crzy shit actually... i... for some reason... needed to have a tuner harness PERMANENTLY installed in my car for me to be able to run crome pro... or any worth tuning program for that matter. whenever uninstalled and ran simply the ecu, the trans wouldn't wanna shift whatsoever besides only from 2nd to 4th to back to 2nd

As prNonVtec4u said, run a pt6 (hell, I ran my pt3 for a couple of days in it, the only issue was I was putting down 160hp and I was running rich) till you can come up with a p06 and have it chipped/tuned. I was a lucky one I guess. I never had issues with my chipped/tuned p06 ecu when I was auto (ran it for 1.5 years with it till I swapped to 5spd)

It seems to be a hit and miss with auto/manual ECU issues.
                            3 CB's gone....
                            1 WK Overland....

Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.
