Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    what else should I get?

If I were to purchase a Moates Chip Burner, a chipped p06 ecu, an lc-1 with a gauge, a boost gauge, and a datalog plug, what else should I get for tuning wise? I know not a turbo and stuff like that haha. Just anymore electronics? I want to be able to set a good map for a street car and some times track. I have a free version of chrome. I figure I should buy the real version. Or would you prefer something different like uberdata?

Free crome should be good enough as you are stock now. There are plenty of add ons for it that will allow you to tune to a pretty good potential. Seems like you got most of it down but if you got a data cable I dunno why you would need a burner. I forgot which cable or mod you have to do for the ECU where you dont need to stop and burn a chip. You just can tune realtime on your laptop.

oh man that would be a much more convenient mod. I will be running a dsm set up when i tune this. just to clarify when you said running free chrome on a stock engine. it wont be stock, but the internals will be.

A datalogging cable, and a real time programmer if you have one.

alright so that ostrich real time programmer and a data logging cable, i'm getting the plug so i guess it comes without the cable then.

              that all?

the ecu, a moates chip burner, a datalogging plug and cable, a realtime programmer, and my free download of crome.

I figure the best way to learn how to u8se crome is to just start messing around on it

You won't be able to datalog on Crome Free. You'll either have to source down a version older 2.0 or older and use Freelog, or TRY to get the new versions of crome to work with freelog.

visit www.forum.pgmfi.org for more info on all that. toggle between the Freelog and Crome forums.

                I'd just invest on CromePro. It's $150.

yeah I figure I should just buy pro, that way I know if I ever need something ridiculous to tune, I'll be prepared lol.

Does the crome come with like a tutorial of sorts?

                    No.

If you do buy crome, buy from xenocron.com. Email him and he'll give you more info about purchasing. HE has a good write up on his website on Crome and setting it up.

you can still use cui's rtp+datalogger 1.8 with the new version of come, you just need to add it thats all. the data commands for the rtp +datalogger 2.0 are different, wich you can change in freelog if you want to use the new 2.0 rtp and data logger plugin

                              lol.....
The rtp+datalogger is a plugin you have to add to your tune in crome to get data logging or Real Time Programming to work. There is a new version of this plug in in the current version of crome, to make freelog work you have to install the old plug in into crome, or change the data commands settings in freelog.
