From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

depending on the app, you COULD see gains that high. methanol is an excellent addition...but you must have a good system that is reliable and fine tunable

How is it injected into the intake? Thru a solenoid like nor or what?

yea its just like water injection, must be a super fine mist in order to not clog the engine

If the guy is shooting methanol into his car I'm sure he knows what he's doing and I'm sure his car is probably already faster than stock which means he's probably at 400hp+ which means he'll spank most cars any day which means I want to see this car.
What town is he in? I rarely see GN's on the streets.

EDIT: I saw you're in Cherry Hill. Does that car park off Split Rock road by chance?

Is the car turbo or supercharged? If so then the methanol injection could be doing the same thing as water injection is used for, i.e. to cool the mixture to reduce detonation. This would allow more boost and thus a higher output.

With water injection the vaporising water takes heat of of the mixture as it's drawn into the cylinders, methanol is even more volatile (i.e. evaporates faster with a stronger cooling affect) than water so could cool the charge more than water does. I'm not sure how he would have to account for the fuel richening affect adding additional burnable 'fuel' might have...

hmm, i was thinking about doing the same thing, only route it to the interior with hawaiian punch, so i can have a drink of hawaiian punch with the pull of a lever. Thats practically the exact same thing.

Like said above it depends on the application... Most people use it to keep the power they have... Like in say a stage 3 audi s4. The methanol is a great addition to the small side mounts as it keeps the intake charge temps down. Instead of the heat soaking after 3 runs you can run many many many times. On my prelude I use it to make power... Nitrous and methanol is awesome together.
Oil leak? What oil leak? That's just sweat from all that horsepower!

                  Applied knowledge is power!

Grand Nationals were turbocharged from the factory. Methanol has a cooling and it raises your octane levels in your fuel system. My friend runs it on his GS and has the same washer tank setup. He can run 87/89 as long as he runs meth in the tank. Lucky. Gains are seen more on FI cars. All motor you wont see much at all. And as mentioned the gain in hp depends on how the methanol is mixed since they have different mixtures such as 50/50, 30/70 stuff like that.

btw, one of the cheapest solutions to finding methanol is buying certain kinds of windshield washer fluid

i thought about doing meth, but i didnt want to worry about filling the system and worrying about a problem with it spraying under boost. easy way to go kaboom. thats why you need a top of the line system with warning indicators etc.
