Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    NA exhaust size?

Does it matter what size exhaust u run if your not going turbo. Would i get better performance off of say 3in piping all the way back or something smaller. cause i know that if your running a turbo then u want larger pipes. but does it matter if u dont have a turbo.

    Depends on setup.

I wouldn't go too large. For accords most people don't need much bigger than 2.25 or 2.5 at the largest. The f22 runs about 8.8:1 compression which isn't alot. Going too big will probly take away too much low end torque.

i was just going to do like DC header and GReddy exhaust. something like that. but i was also looking at a BOMZ setup. it comes with the header but the piping is 3in and im not really a fan of the larger larger exhaust. specially the fartcan at the end.

Well it really comes down to what you like. Performance wise, different diameter will have different advantages and disadvantages. Either way it should be a nice upgrade.

well if you want a lot of top end go with a bigger pipe but if you want to keep that torque then go smaller.

i'd recommend something under 3inches. 2.5inches is perfect imo. if you look at alot of companies and their full cat-back exhaust systems for our cb7's or Ludes ... alot of well known brands have 2.3 piping(60mm-65mm).

If you want alil more go, get the exaust around 2.5" and get the cam reground. That should give you noticable gains.

exactly, upgrading from teh cat back does nothing. to see gains you need to upgrade the header, all the way back to the tailpipe

I got some pretty decent gains in the top end when I put my catback on. I had nothing but an intake at that time.

Look for dynos of high-flow cats VS. stock cats on Hondas sometime...there isn't much of a difference.

                              Oh, and you're wrong.
