Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

What throttle body?

    What throttle body?

I'm using an h23 manifold and need/want a big throttle body. I don't really want to go with a Maxbore one, though I'd be able to keep the FITV.
I'm looking into a 68mm Professional Products throttle body for an ITR. They also have one for a GSR. Is there a difference?

I'm open to suggestions to throttle bodies. I just want to confirm that the ITR is a good application to steal from since there isn't much for the H22/H23 more than anything.

I want somthing a little bigger than a stock s2k throttle body. I've also read a lot of places that all but accord F motor TB's are interchangeable, but there are 2 different TB's for the teggies for a reason. I've also seen the intake manifolds are different P/N for GSR vs B16 or ITR. Something must be funny with the GSR.

The professional products TB comes in either polished or satin (stock look) finishes, and 65mm or 68mm diameter. They all sell for about $150-160.

I honestly don't think you'll need a 68mm TB. I had my H23 TB bored out by maxbore, and there was a slight difference

do you think a lot more power is to be had by just boring out the TB from 62mm to 68? b/c i've got a 3 inch AEM intake that could probably fit it. But once your bore out the TB won't you have to do the same w/ the Plenum?

yes he would have to have the plenium match to the throttle body, other wise adding a bigger tb is pointless

I don't know the exact specs of your build cus I just don't remember, but what are your power goals?

I think you'll be fine with an s2k throttle body if you're going with anything under 220whp.

Anything bigger you will lose some velocity.

send the s2k throttle body or h22/h23 throttle body to maxbore and let em bore it out.

I'm hoping for about 230whp, maybe a bit more, however that may be me hoping for too much. The motor is about 11.8:1CR, should rev to 7-7.5k rpm, and has .430" lift cams.
PirateMcFred made 200whp on 91 octane, 5000 ft above sea level, stock intake manifold/TB, and stock cam gears. I'll be using 93 octane a 900ft above sea level, Blacktrax Manifold, adjustable cam gears (tuned), and whatever TB I decide to get.
You really think the S2K TB would be enough? I'd like to keep FITV.

As I understand a Throttle body can only be bored out 4MM, according to maxbore.I was dealing with the same issues with my Skunk2 IM, it was alot smaller opening than my H22 TB from maxbore and a hell of alot smaller than my 69MM TB from DH Racing.I wanted him to port and polish my IM, but it wouldn't have been worth it so i went with thinking outside the box and got his accopanying(sp) IM
This fucker makes an H22 scream like a bitch cryin to its 2-stroke mama!! Especially in the VTEC range, then again what other range is there?LOL back on subject I'm just trying to give some insight.ive fought and researched trying to find a true powermaking intake setup(T.B., I.M., runners), went through 4 T.B.s not to mention the S2 I.M. was a let down.So I bit the bullet and wanted to have fun and in fact was a little sceptical on the deal at very first. It was basically my own experiment with DH's parts LOL.needless to say it satisfied me, up the fuel by around 10 psi and go...sorry to whore the thread... ...
