So what do you guys think about using a 50 shot of nitrous with my setup? Basically a boosted stock h22, running of a street tune using EcTune at 8lbs using a wideband that I have. I've upgraded the necessary things to handle the boost, so other than maybe retarding the timing and using some colder plugs, would it be devasting to add that extra little power of a 50 shot? Of course I would get a bottle warmer and all the necessary items to run the it safely and I would only be using it at the track..that's about once a week, or would it be too much stress on the engine since Im already using FI? Any comments? And I know my tuner doesnt like tuning with nitrous, so I might go over it with him before doing anything, but I would like to hear some opinions about having boost and a nitrous setup.

Depends. Wet or dry shot? Using it for power or to spool the turbo?

Boost and nitrous... It will work and can make the car pretty nasty but there are a few things you need to lookout for. I'm guessing your on a stock motor. I'm not sure how much boost your running but it really doesn't matter. Say normally you make 20 lbs of boost at... 2700 rpms like a 1.8t makes on stock turbo... well with nitrous your going to make that 20 lbs of boost and then some as sooon as you flip the go switch. Like 2000 rpms 20 lbs of boost. And lets say the boost use to fall off at say 5500 rpms to like 10 lbs... You'll hold more boost well past 5500 rpms all the way to redline. Its going to be a tune and retune deal, trying to get the right jets in place. Turbo cars run a little rich to help with detenation and that extra richness kills the effects of nitrous. I think on my buddy's turbo gti we ended up using a 75 shot nitrous side and a 35 shot fuel side to get it to work right.
Oh and if you are already at the ragged edge of blowing the motor because of too much power then dont use nitrous.Oil leak? What oil leak? That's just sweat from all that horsepower!
