I thought the a6 ecu didn't have a govenor.

Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

You have several options,
#1 Get a version 2 Apexi/Rev Speed Meter You can wire this to bypass the speed govenor
#2 Get a HKS FCD module "fuel cut defencer"
#3 Chipped ECU
It would be wise to get a p06, p28, p72 etc. and get it tuned for YOUR own car rather than having someone elses map or e-bay like basemap (mugen,skunk2 etc) that came from a car with matched similar mods.
Alot of members can't stress this enough that NO two cars function exactly the same. For Example one type-r stock may have say 197hp 145lbs of torque while another stock type-r may have 198hp but 148lbs of torque off the assembly line. NOTE: example
That said if you are running a someone elses fuel map, you can either be running too lean or too rich where it's not necessary and actually hinder your performance rather than gain.
# Standalone Units AEM / Expanded OEM ecu's Hondata, AEM, Apexi, Uberdata, Neptune and alike
Some may be way up there in price like AEM or Apexi's unit, but Hondata and freeware programs that can optimize a regular ecu can do exactly the same if not better than the expensive AEM or Apexi Units. I plan on running neptune next year after I gain a couple of things needed before I dump hella money into tuning.Last edited by Kurobei; 12-09-2007, 11:39 AM.I need a custom turbo manifold built....

I know of some people on this board who did a6 manifold swaps and swapped the ex ecu without changing to the a6 cam and haven't heard anything but good gains from their butt dyno. If you haven't already and plan on keeping the F-motor, try swapping to a F22a6 or H23 intake manifold and then do the pt6. It will control the dual runners which actually your a1 or a4 might like since they open up on high rpms and sound more deep and aggressive.I need a custom turbo manifold built....
