Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

chipped ecu has everything done, you just have to have a wideband to make sure you car runs good

control module, only kicks up the air/fuel ratios, and sometimes you loose gas mileage.

and air/fuel controller adjusts air flow and fuel usage. pretty cool tool.

id go with a megasquirt ems.

i was thinking about getting an apex air/fuel controller
cause i heard that some control modules mess up the car or work terribly
and for the chipped ecu, i cant find any for my non-vtec accord

Any chippable ecu will work in your accord as long as it's obd1. If it's obd2 you need a conversion harness.

If it's a VTEC ecu, you just set the VTEC engage higher than your RPM.

contact mrx or d112crzy, they have a service for chipped ecus. id go with mrx, cus he buys the ecus and chips them so you dont have to worry about finding a ecu. i bought a chip sutiable for my car, thats a f22 dsm 14b basemap, for 155 shipped. totally worth it.

hmm, is it possible to have a chipped ecu and air/fuel controller on my car at the same time?

and will chipping the ecu make my car...
            1. not pass smog
            2. require higher octane fuel
            3. lose mpg

tatally not worth it. the ecu is already programmed.

                    1. I dont see why it wouldnt pass smog....Your just making it run more efficient
                    2. Tune it for 87 octane
                    3. Mileage should go up if tuned properly (this is also assuming your chipping an ecu for an f22)

Im not sure of your motor plans....or what motor mods you have done now but if you have a basically stock f22 with no major mods just save the money it takes to chip/tune an ecu....The gains just arent worth it.

                      ^^^ thank you

its not worth it if you don't have i/h/e/cam respectively. The f22 maps are NOT bone stock maps from honda. Me and a couple of other ppl had to create them from scratch ourselves. Too much hassle if you expect it to pass smog and actually gain horsepower and mpg. We don't chip ecu's for power, we do it for the ability to alter ignition and fuel maps.

well, i got an I/H/E for my car
so i will probablly be going with an air/fuel controller then...
anyone have any experience with those?

what i'm saying isn't for chipped ecu's its for tuning equipment in general such as air fuel controllers too. I digress.
