Help me figure out if its worth it..

Hey guys i gots a 92 accord lx with the stock F22a1 in perfect condition!

right now it got:
-ebay short ram intake
-custom 2.25 crush bent exhaust with an ebay muffler

My question to you is how much MORE power would i gain if i put the cai extention on and got the ex header and from the flex pipe till the exhaust actually make it 2.25 inches.

As of right now i got the stock 4-1 header on and its just pathetic how much flow restriction i have going from flange to flange from size of 2" - 2.25 and back down to 2"... i'll get pics up soon of it... you'll see what i mean.

trying to figure out if its worth it or not cuz i raced my friend with the same car with 80,000 less miles on it and i was dead even till 3rd gear when i pulled litterly 2.5-3 cars on him.... don't ask how.. i've always thought my 2nd - 3rd gear pulls well.

the ex 4-2-1 exaust manifold will give u about 5 hp. less restriction.

the good shit is for my civic... i'm just trying to get this thing high 15's with cheap mods... and i think i can get close with the EX header and a real downpipe - the cat 2.25 inches.... here i'll get pics now... its 11:45 here. brb! haha

Be aware that the O2 sensor is not in the same place on the EX headers as it is on the LX headers. The LX headers have the sensor up on the top part not far after it leaves the engine, the EX has it down by the flex pipe. This could possibly mean having to extend the O2 sensor wire.

Personally I like the bling factor of name brand headers and knowing that they were made for my car. I don't like bastardizing my car with parts that don't really belong on it, thats just my opinion though.

cheap mods arent really gona get u into the 15's with these cars.

i mean u can get a reground cam (hear delta is pretty good price, around85 bux i think) doesnt cost much but i woulndt say its a cheap mod because it does a great job.

but the would diffenently get u into the high high 15's or close

as of now i hang with my friends 00 cavi z24 that runs ~ a 15.5... he'll take me by 2 cars or so.

do a head job on the car. and grind about 0.40 off the head. this will give u higher comperesion. there is a thread around there about this kind of thing. read it.
with all the mods etc u are looking at a 10-15hp gain.

I hated the cold air extension, maybe it's just me but i felt like the cold air extended the intake track too much, i feel more midrange power with the short ram. not to mention not having to worry about the shit falling off or getting water in the motor and i don't have to clean it as often. basically stick with the short ram

well i like the cai setup better... feel your filter after you drive it for a while.... kinda warm isn't it? get your cai extension on and then feel it.... lot cooler. but thats JMO
