Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Egr and other sh*t

Does anybody know about removing egr valve and still having a smooth running engine. I want to buy one of those obx IM (i know they are cheap but i have reasons) and they have no spot for a egr valve. Can i have a ecu chipped to run with no egr?

car will run just as if it had one... but you'll have the CEL on constantly UNLESS you're running a chipped p06 or something where the ECU doesn't look/read EGR

and just thought i'd throw this out there...

is it true it might even retard timing a bit if removed when the ecu calls for it?
        i hear that somewhere...

all i know is that whent he egr recirculates, it makes the cycle burn slower due to the hotter gases being introduced into the cc.

so idk if it can retard it make it more lean?

i was wondering kinda the same question a few days ago.
im saving up for the euro r manifold and accessories from Rosko Racing.

no one around here actually mods the f/h series so i can only ask my b series friends. i asked how too completely eliminate the EGR system, and they said they didnt know. that asked me if itd throw it into limp mode and i replied that i didnt know. a cel isnt a big deal, ill just get a chip and settle that. i understand what the egr is and does, but you should just be able too block it off and that be that right? i figured this would be that.
