Okay I was thinkin if im gonna do allmotor go out literally with mild next to wild. It just so happens that my boy is sellin his h22 type-s bottom end with oem type s pistons shopuld i take that and slap that on mine. So all i have to do is add the rest like cams and stuff to the head to be makin some power without having to do my original bottom end saving me the downtime?

Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

How much more power does a Type-S make? Is that the 220HP motor? I think if you can do all the work yourself it would be worth it...otherwise bolt-ons and cams should be good. Somehow I think it would be a better bet to get lightweight pistons & rods though, as they're brand new and you can get higher compression. I think I heard somewhere that the main difference is in the cam profiles.

The Type-S bottom end has an 11.1:1 compression ratio, that is .5 over the stock JDM H22A's 10.6:1 CR. That is good for a few good whp 4-6whp maybe even more with good tuning. Then the cams, and head material/porting of the Type-S engine make the rest of the power. The tune also is slightly different.
h22sparkle,
Depending what you get the bottom end for and it's condition would decide if it where a good deal. Remember it's still an OE bottom end, It's not fully built, but then again that can be a good thing since it is OE you get OE reliability, that is if you don't kill the shit out of it.
How much money to you have, maybe getting yourself some Type-S pistons .020 over with some econo billet rods for your block wouldn't be a bad idea. Just get yourself new bearings, seals, oil pump, line bore the block, as well as the holes, and do it up. Your're looking at a $1500-$2000 rebuild but now you know what you've got instead of investing money and time in a mystery.

The H22 engine with 220 hp is the euro type-r accord motor. do you have an H22 already in your car? If it is JDM H22a i would just stay with that bottom end. just do some aftermarket internals.Used To Be The One & Only H22 Powered CB7 In Oklahoma! ! !
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but you still
can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs!
