Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Dyno!!!

didnt know if to put this in the race section of here but here it goes....

first of all, i didnt dyno

i seen 4 cars dyno yesterday, it was like.....i cant even express it.
we all crowded around in the shop area to watch every dyno.

first car/truck was a truck, a BS pull with a Tracker

    Trackers number: (i think) 94hp------154tq
next was a prelude 93 body style with a H22 in it.
this might disappoint a few of u, but im still considering the dyno was screwy.
    one pull.............139hp with 150something torqe.
yes, f-ed our heads up, but i also smelled burnt clutch so it could have been that the clutch was slipping some and all the power wasnt getting to the wheels, cause it should had been around 160-170hp easily.
but at the crank it was.....what its suppose to be, 200hp (it showed both the at the crank and at the wheels)
next was a integra, 3 door type with a b18 (all cars where stock with just air intakes)
first pull...........89hp with 130 somthing torqe, at the crank it had 180 i think, so like i said one reason for the low power to the wheels might have been just the dyno its self, there just breaking it in and really dont kno how to use it that well, just got it
and the last car was a 95 style civic-vtec
first pull.........69hp forgot torqe, second pull....88hp 130 at the crank.

also the integra and civic did 1/4mile runs.
    integra:
    1st-17.9 (i kno right) 60' 2.7
    second-16.7 60'2.6
owner said he runs high 15's at the track.

    civic runs
    1st- and only.....18 somthing.
    60' 3.0

and i thought about this when i got home, they didnt run the 1/4 right. if they would have there times would had been better.
and heres why, say ur at the track, waiting for the green, what do u normally do while waiting for the green........u rev to whatever u want to launch at and they didnt do that on the dyno.
the instructor just said go, and they punched it.
if they would have reved to whatever there launch is, then he said go, there times would had been way better, amybe even better then if they was at the track because they would have got no wheel spin

but all in all, it was cool to watch
i got pics but there on my phone and i dont have the stuff to upload them, sorry

I heard a while back that mustang dynos give false readings on hondas or most fwd cars. I will see if i can find it again.

              This is funny.

Please tell me, if you would. What the difference between a FWD and RWD pull on a dyno would be?

              Anybody?

              Anybody?

The roller is spinning an opposite direction? HA! Not gonna cut it.

The H22 Prelude, w/ 139/6 to the wheels. Yep, sounds about accurate to me. I've seen at least 4 or 5 OBD-1/2 H22 dyno pulls at about that number ( stock or close to ).

The 1/4 bullshit they do on the dyno. Absolutely stupid and innacurate. The only time it is even close to being....close, are automatic vehicles, and even then....not close.
