Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Exhaust leak

Just about every week or two depend on how much i drive the bolts on my headers to the downpipe all come loose. So every week i have to tighten them and buy a new gasket because every once in a while i wont get to it soon enough. And the metal gaskets keep on braking. Is there anything that i can do to keep them from getting loose all the time? Would a different type of gasket work better? I gotta figure something out so i can drive this weekend. Thanks

They have that high temp silicone you can use in between that should help adhesion a bit. You might just need better bolts But I would tighten them with the silicone first and see what happens. Whenever you take off is the gasket bad? You can tell if it has been leaking because usually the exhaust will leave a trail where its comin out of.

The gasket was good but every time the bolts are getting loose the gaskets kinda of flattening out and being stretched out so i have to keep buying new ones. Right now i have a bolt then two looking washers and then the nut to hold it on. Its doing good so far.
