From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

one dead cylinder on a h23 vtec sounds just like a wrx, trust me i know. But it sure don't run like one. it faster J/k

I had a greddy evo 2 on my cd5 and it wasn't loud unless you got down on it.
If your not in the market to buy a full catback, try and get your hands on an OBX look alike. They are decent mufflers and not loud or ricey. Very smooth deep tone. But granny driving made almost no noise. The BB2 and BB6 mufflers are real bulky and tall. I had one on my arcadia cb7 and it hung really low.

-get a 2.5" Thrush chambered muffler for ~20-30 bucks (cannot remember exact price)
-get an exhaust reducer 2.5" O.D. to 2" and another reducer 2" to 1.75"
-connect the two reducers together (have somebody weld them together)
-stick this tube into the outlet of your Thrush muffler so that it goes inside the muffler and through one chamber into the other
-drill a hole in the muffler outlet and the tube you made so that you can put a little bolt and nut there to keep the tube from falling out of the muffler

-you now have a 2.5" muffler that sounds VERY CLOSE to an OEM Honda muffler for ~$30-40

                Magnaflow

I had a Magnaflow put on there before I bought the car. I loved how the thing sounded... Then I swapped out the f22a1 for an h22a and I officially drive a ricer. So I am very interested in the RSX muffler idea.

201 Whp H22a with bolt ons, see the progress from stock f22a to now HERE

magnaflow has different mufflers that sound diffrent.

i have two cb7s 90ex with a one tip manaflow and a 92 dx with a twin tip nagnaflow. both sound nice but when i get on the interstate twin tip magnaflow will be very loud.

I want to get the muffler off my dad's M45

Any single body muffler from a big motor will prob. do fine.

why not the one from off the 2002 max or the oval es muffler from magnaflow. The hell if i cared about mufflers too much you see and hear my car before im actually there. Shit sounds like im lettin off a shotgun when i let off the throttle to shift

05 up mustang GT muffler. 2.5" in/out, has stainless tip, same one as gt500's use, 2 of them support 500hp, so one should support 250...

ive put prob 4 of them on civics, they are easy to find cause mustang guys are always putting louder then stock mufflers on.

one civic made 186whp with a GSR, i wouldnt hesitate to run one on a H22 build.

How do you make the mustang mufflers fit with their offset outlet?

                            2 45 deg bends and a welder.
edit: thought u said inlet. outlet isnt a prob, set the muffler to one side, i use the drivers side muffler (or pass side flipped over)

Ah ok, how's the sound? I'm currently running an OBX straight-thru but looking for something ALOT quieter on the highway. Does the mustang muffler cut out most of the noise, any tincan noises?

in the 186whp civic, u cant even hear it when your crusing, when you get on it, the sound changes and its quite throaty.
heres a vid of that car.
