Which of the two is more powerful system, not talking about like, which can make the most of the least gas, but which lets more air into the cylinders and creates more power. (engine noob but im trying to learn) i thought i read somewhere a carburator is more powerful no?

From what I've learned and read is a carberator is awesome for drag use and atomizes the fuel better to make more power on the high end from stop to full throttle. However, for autocrossing or track use, fuel injection is the way to go because it adjusts better to high & low rpms, where as the carb doesn't work as well.
I talked to a kid that drags a mid 80's camaro with a 350 stroked to a 383, running on alcohol w/nitrous and he says everyone uses carberators practically in all out drag racing. He runs 10.60's prolly even less by now.

some drag racers convert to the fuel injection method or at least try. since at high speeds the fuel and air mixture is crutial...a fuel injection system can time wayy better than a carborator and maybe result in a better time...iono i heard this on american muscle car..
but i like carbs on some cars...turn a few screws for more air flow...haha now its all electrical, but i dont mind.What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

i wouldnt mind getting my hands on a carbed 4th gen.. mmm.. no ecu... hehe.. it would just be fun to tune one.. add a 32/36 weber scoop on the hood 272 deltacam,all the lil bolt ons.. get the carb rejetted, ah remove vacumn lines(emissions bs) and go out and have 7k fun.... but thats just me babbling.. still would be a fun car to have.. especially over here in the states.. i wonder how much a carbed motor would be to ship over here.. ahh ok.. ill shut up now...

You wouldn't even be asking about carbs if you'd seen one of the dual carb setups on the 88-9 preludes... Oh Lord what a pain in the ass... more vacuum hoses than even the 3G Accords... Nope, I don't see the point of a carburetor anymore... Way easier to just do NitrousVisit us at http://www.valleyspecialists.com for all of your Honda and Acura service needs!

I'd have to say I'm impartial to either way or staying neutral. Comes down to, if you can properly tune it w/mods and it goes fast, good for you.
I was primarily going off 2 resources: A co-worker with a mid-80's Camaro and an article I recently read off Honda Tuning. There was this interview with some Nigerian guy that had a 88 CRX w/carb and was running low 10's, wanting to break into the 9's. He's a chemical engineer by profession & works on his own car, did experiments in college with carbs and said they atomize the fuel better than fuel-injected setups. He said if you're dragging and going from 0 mph to balls out top-end, then carbs are the way to go in his opinion, but if you're RPM's are all over the place like in autocrossing & grand-prix style track racing, fuel-injected is the way to go.
Again, I'm neutral...just throwing this out for conversational purposes, so nobody get on my a$$ about it. Just want to learn here aight.

well i was on homemadeturbo.com... and they have a few crxs (carbed) that have been turbo charged and running near 200hp
i mean.. carb takes out some of the doing with efi setups.. althought efi is more accurately tuned..
its a trade off.. but i wouldnt mind trying it out..
if u guys wanna look at a setup..
go to homemadeturbo.com and look under turbo projects.. i think its the 4th from the bottom..
and they do run additional injectors.. to ensure enough fuel for all cylinders.. but yeah i wont argue ur point..
im just curious as to what a carbed f22 would run and how it would be modded..
my minds just wondering..

Also, aren't their two type of fuel injection systems. A standard one, and then the kind 4th gen honda accords have (electric), which have ignition coils? I heard that the standard fuel injections are better and have less problems.
