Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Rough crank, need help

Well my h23a3 had a spun bearing when i bought it and the bearing pretty much exploded, making the crank the slightest bit rough, and i don't have the money to get it grinded or whatever. Will this slight roughness screw it up and put me back in the same situation I'm in now or will it be fine? Can i hand sand it?

I'm pretty sure it won't be very nice to your bearing. You're not even supposed to touch the face of a bearing when installing it, or the acid/oil on your skin will etch it. I'm thinking a rough crank journal will do the same thing, but more "extreme." I also wouldn't recommend hand sanding it, as you could make the journal out of round, which will just mess things up even more.

un-machined crank = bad bearings in no time.
