The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    h22 + f22 tranny

okay so after reading a bunch of threads on h22a1/4 with a f22a1 tranny has best set up for a turbo? due to the f22a1 having longer gears? and another question is my lx (Canadian) accord has the f22a1 tranny no?

yes the f22 tranny is best set-up for the turbo. i have an h22a with an h22 tranny and my wife has an h22a4 with an f22 tranny, my car will pull a lot harder than hers. hers will probably run 140 mph but it will take forever to get there. i will be changing hers to an h22 tranny soon but at the time of the swap the f22 was all we had. i also will be putting a turboed h22 with an h22 lsd tranny in my wagon, very soon. i want to see how it does with the shorter gears. if i don't like it i'll be changing to an f22 tranny and installing a lsd unit in it.

The reasoning behind the longer gears for turbo is because each of these trannies really only have 4 racing gears and one overdrive. You aren't supposed to really shift into overdrive/5th gear during a run. Also with longer gears, you gain speed/accelerate for a longer duration while in boost/powerband. Using overdrive in the 1320 really kills your time.

damn cant wait for your turbo to be installed keep me posted and compare which you liked best cons/pros with the h22 and f22 how hard is it to install lsd ? if it was that easy i would have done that with my civic

          thanks for the info everybody!!

it depends on the setup altogether as far as how much power your pushing. The h22 will get you there faster to that 5thgear which is good for the quartermile run. As for the f22 its good for long top speed runs mostly and to keep you in your powerband. Ive done both Its a love and hate thing. But it depends on the setup

As far as the turbo setup goes... Its up to you. I've seen them both... as far as f22 tranny being better for boost, its not. I've always said it was but it isn't. I'd much rather have a h22/h23 tranny for boost. The only way I'll recommend a f22 tranny is if you have way too much power like in the 400+ whp range. But as far as 200-300 range h22 tranny is perfect. With a h22 you'll never get to 5th with which is a 125 mph in the quarter. So no worries about having to use it. As far as N/A verse N/A they run the same times at the track... But boost vs boost h22 is faster with traction.

Yup exactly the same was mentined to me when i spoke to accord S.I.R about it. The f22 holds down the traction issue you would have as with the h22 tranny becuase of the acceleration being put dwn with power. The f22 comes into play when you have that 400 to hold the traction issues down.
