Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    power and overheating?

OK i recently did a head swap with an f22b and everything went smooth, had a little overheating problem but that was due to a rip in the hose. Ok then about 2 weeks later i go to start my car and i get nothing, bought a new battery problem solved now a week later things are diming when i use any power what so ever including just pressing the brake, my gauge says i am overheating. Obviously i am not really over heating for when i am not using any power just at a red light or idling it is fine. So my question is what should i look at i am going to go get the alternator tested, or do it myself but what else should i look at thanks

Check your engine grounds, did you bother bleeding the coolant? or making sure its at level?. You did have a leak perhaps there is still air in the lines.

The gauge says your overheating but your idle is fine....You dont have to give it power to overheat. Anyway does it fly to Hot when you start it up if it does that it could be the temp switch. If it slowly rises up to hot then yea you really need to recheck coolant levels if not bleed the system again to get the air out.
