Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Engine questions

I am concidering getting a new engine for my ride. I don't want to sink alot of cash in to the engine as the body has already done that...lol My question is how much performance can I get out of rebuilding the stock engine and installing performance lifters, cam, bore and shave the heads ....etc? I was quoted an price to machine the engine and build it up of $800 plus the block and new parts. I am not looking to V-tech it out or anything I just want a little more power to my ride. I was also thinking of a T-2 or T-3 turbo once it's built. So let the flaming or critisim begin...lol For real guys what do you all think.

i'd probably go with something simple like an h23 manifold swap with a delta regrind. later.

you needs lots of money, thats the main part.

as for the question about how much performance you can get with performance parts. well, that really depends on how deep your pockets are and what you want out of it.

what will be done with those 800 dollars?

if you want a little more power, then just turbo it as is.

search around, there are plenty of threads about this sort of thing. matter of fact, there was a thread about how much money people are into their turbo projects. search fot that in the forced induction section.

the 800 is labor for the build and shaving the head and boring it out..i am not to knowlegeable on internal engine stuff but the current engine has some probs that turboing would just blow it the f#@k up. I found another block for 400 and the rebuild kit for 500 plus a cam shaft...just starting to shop this is my winter project to drop it in next spring...I will do some reading....I will turbo it after its fresh under the hood.

good thing you're not looking to go "V-tech" because a cordless phone won't do you much good for performance.
but look into h22 vtec, not a bad option.
