Tornado Device

My dad got one of those Tornado things for cheap off eBay for a mazda 626 & hes been getting alot of flack on the Mazda forums. He swears its given him some benefit. Does anyone have the dyno results from these? Do they really help?

If it was that simple manufacturers would use them stock. Why wouldn't they include a 10 cent part that boosts power and efficiency?

They have been making these gimmick devices for years. Which are total BS, they do nothing. Always remember when modding your car, CAVEAT EMPTOR, Buyer BEware, you get what you Pay for, always. I'd give anyone shit for buying one, cause the wasted money they could have spent more wisely.

bought one a LONG LONG LONG time ago in my wee teen years. Did not feel a damned thing on the butt dyno. waste of $70 (or whatever it costs now)

That's kind of my philosophy, where if it was so great why don't they add it in the 1st place!?! It's not like an intake or exhaust, where some grannys may not like the sound of them when traveling uphill or whatever, but wtf, how big of a difference could it make?

Its a mind thing, when you add an upgrade you'll "think" the car has more powe beacause you want it to. You'll probably press the gas harder and accelerate harder too!!

and an automatic too while we would be at it, but his car runs pretty good from what i hear, so thats ok.

well as for the tornado thing, i doubt ill be buying one soon, but that would rule if someone came up with a device like that and it really gain noticeable gains. i dont understand how spinning the air makes it less turbulent. to me, it seems like stuirring it up would be worse from what i understand, plus it seems like less air could get in there cuz you got this fucking thing sitting in the middle of your airs path.

What they probably did was design it and somehow someway they got a number that was one thousandth higher than the number from a stock setup and marketed it as a product with huge performance advantages, thats what they all do.

all i know is that if you buy one of those electronic turbos and then put a tornado device in there as well, its a natural disaster of hp and tq waiting to happen.

A guy put one on his trans am for it and had his car dyno tuned. He actually lost 10 HP. It does more harm then good. Just think of it as something blocking the path of the air

it's basically doesn nothing out of 5 people that i know that bought that crap only one actually got better gas milage....which went from 12 to 13 on a navigator big jump eh
