anybody know anything about Injen intakes and how they compare to AEM? AEM seems to be what everyone's got on here, but my friend's got a hookup at injen and i hear alotta people say that it really doesnt matter what you get cuz intakes dont give that much of a gain anyways.

Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

There both just aluminium pipes when it comes down to it. SR or CA for any brand have the same bends to accomadate the cb7 engine bay, I mean there might some design differences between the brands. If it really has a noticable difference no, its pretty insignificant. Intakes dont really make that much power but improve the overall flow. Increasing throttle response and acceleration, and they sound neat :0,lol. Get a cheap ebay SRI if anything, thats what I use and I dont see any reason in spending more for a name brand intake besides A.) the looks B.) the name. ohh and you could always but a ingen or aem filter on your ebay intake so its like half of one ya know?
I think im right on this anyway. imoOriginally posted by deevergote..It's not cheap to build a fast CB7, especially NA. However, if you're willing to put the money into the car, it's well worth it in the end. There ARE faster cars out there, but some people, like me, want THIS particular car to be fast!...

ill out it the way ive eperianced and read about.
Injen: through my experiance it gave me more hp then i thought an intake would. not my imagination. not my mind playing tricks on me wither people. i hung with a guy who had a full exhaust(cat removed), cold air intake(AEM), dropped suspention(DOES effect your acceleration), and some performance tires. all i had on my car was that short ram intake from Injen. it was an auto like my car so you cant say he couldnt drive. lol
AEM: its ok. popular. but ok. lol. note the above guy in Injen side^. also i have heard and read that due the type of material that the AEM intake is made out of, it will tend to bend while your working on your car.(for those time when you have to take the intake off to have it out of the way.)

the only way you can have a comparison between the two intakes is to take a stock car and take a baseline dyno run and compare against a dyno run with the injen and then an aem. other then that its just a butt dyno and everyone's butt is tuned differently (ie one person can say he got 10hp from new tires and another can say they got 10hp from having less gas, weight reduction yo)
