Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    advice needed.

ok guys the downpipe/flex pipe got all fucked up on my car.
now the car is a 92 dx base model lol, i looked at some down pipes in the junk jard and they all do apear rusty.
now what should i do. should i go with a cheap generic ebay header????
if yes am i gona see any power lost or will i pass the ispection/emition etc?
the reason i ask is that from searching in here, there are people that have stated that they saw some kind of power increase, some say its not worth it etc. and i know someone who has an accord that couldn't pass the emition and was really thinking that it was his header for some reason.
so what would u guys think i should do.
by the way i don't wanna spend crazy money on real dc headers or others.

Then buy stock headers. If you buy aftermarket headers, you then shouldn't be interested in passing emissions. Especially since you KO'ed DCS headers.

if you want carb legal- DC offers the header you want

You notice a gain when upgrading from a DX or LX header. IF you have the EX Or SE you wont notice a big difference because they already have a better header than the DX and LX.

so in other word i won't be passing the emition ispection if i buy the ebay headers?
will i lose any power over 4k rpm? i read somewhere that you might?
dc headers are out of question because of the price they go for?
for $300 you can buy another cb7 and fix it. lol

The use of a non carb legal header usually means it hasn't been tested and doesn't have approval. With that said, there are no guarantess that the ebay header will pass emissions. Not only that, but in some smog places, they won't even smog the vehicle if the header is non-carb legal. As for over 4k on the rev limiter, I'm not sure about that. Usually headers help improve power in the top powerband but it really depends on how the header is made and what test results prove.

              *The word is emissions
