Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    2 headgaskets?

I'm having a problem finding a headgasket to match what I need. The Cometic one is way too thick and to get my desired compression I would have to mill the head and spend even more money there but the factory .026 gasket won't clear my pistons. Can I use 2 headgaskets together? If you don't KNOW, don't answer. I've built plenty of engines it's just that I've never needed to run 2 gaskets so I never knew to ask someone. The only thing I'm seeing will be a leak. I can't fuse them togther before the install with some kind of adhesive becuase that would cause uneven thickness. If not then I'll have to buy the Cometic and mill.

No, ive heard of people using double layer headgasket, even triple layer just for compression's sake...

Take a look at Mr.Gasket, i believe they make steel headgaskets...another alternative...

Im sure some company can make a custom one...of course $$
I would hate to mill the head if there is no real need...but hey, there is no price for perfection right?

This might sound retarded and might not work but can you cut down the cometic a lil? Dunno wont work most likely. Some aftermarket people run multilayer gaskets but they are pretty thick. What type of thickness are you lookin for? And how far is the Cometic off by?
