Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Need more power!

So as most of you have read, I got the new stage one clutch installed. Now I am wondering what my best route will be for some extra power.

I would like to go all motor without any power adders. Nitrous is definitly out of the question because I'm not about refilling horsepower all the time.

Now I know a lot of the american v-8 muscle boys do cams and gain a lot of power from them. Is this the same with the cb7's? If so I would like to do a cam, but was wondering how hard of a job this is to do. Lots of money?

I don't think tuning to get the car to idle should be a problem since its a manual.

But throw me out some ideas. I'd appreciate it

Well theres some routes you dont want nitrous huh? so then go turbo or swap your motor out for a h22 swap or get a junked motor from the yard store it in the house sleeve it build it and run some insane boost while your still driving for the other motor to be put in when your absolutely ready. Man o man tryin to go fast in this time sure aint cheap brutha lemme tell ya that!

Well wouldn't a h22 swap cost me around 3 grand?

I don't want a full built 12 sec honda. I just want a little bit more power then I am use to? I little more get up and go.

How hard is it to get these motors in the 200hp range?

200 hp? easy if you turbo the f22...hard if u all motor it...With everybolt on imaginable and an extra point of compression your still looking at like 180 whp. What you can do tho is get a head package deal. There are a couple of guys on here that will vouch for good companies. For instance Gude does entire head packages for a little more than $1000 and since you don't drive the car alot as you've said b4 then downtime isn't really too much of a problem. Now i'm gonna get grilled by somebody for mentioning Gude but i've still heard better stuff from them than ppl like JG engine dynamics

well for 22,50 you can have a h22 shipped to your house probably a extra 350 for clutch and you do the swap yourself add that up

Still a h22 swap is close to 3k.

How much is a turbo setup gonna run?

I am still curious about doing a cam swap. No one has mentioned anything about it

So what you think a swap is supposed to be cheap yeah for a shitty engine it is. But forced induction is always cheaper but remember you get what you pay for .!!!!!!!

he could always get an f22b...thats not alot $700 for the engine and there are alot of swappable parts between the f22a's and the h23. For a junkyard (DSM) turbo setup it'll be around $1200 or less and for a pieced together setup like mine your looking at $2000 or so. Check out Homemadeturbo.com for ppl selling kits. There is rarely ever an accord person selling a turbo so the exhaust manifold will be hard to come by but u can get a log-style mani for like $200

Oh I know its going to be expensive, I am just trying to weigh out my options and see what I can do. If I can't find anything, I will probably just leave it stock. Maybe I will just go towards more looks then power. I will save the power for when I am out of school.

Thanks for the all the info guys
