Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

By IABs not being hooked up, do you mean the butterflies are always open? Or do you mean the IABs are hooked up from vacuum diaphragm to plenum direct via vacuum hose (no solenoid/ECU activation)? Please clarify, I'm curious.

Also, I think between all three of us we can get a good 272 map made, besides I need to get going on this hardcore since the April 21-23 North Carolina meet is coming and I at least want to roll down there with a decent street tune. If we can get a decent street tune map made soon enough, I can get my car dynoed before the NC meet and bring the dyno graph down for a final street tune. Sound good? I have my Zeitronix wideband hooked up as of last night and it works. I just didn't get much time last night to datalog, but that's the plan for this weekend.

BTW MRX, I'm getting that vacuum T-fitting right after work so hopefully the IABs and FPR will be functioning normally like they should. Then, I can dial in the idle via adjustment screw to like stock (if the cam likes it), set ignition timing based on whatever idle RPM I settle at. Then, run another datalog at idle, then do the neutral RPM revs and note AFR at certain RPM points. Finally, go on the 3rd gear pull run and datalog for you and we can look at the fuel maps, etc.

Nice!!! this sounds great.. I will datalog as much as I can to help do this. It will be interesting to compare the PLX to the zietronix and the little differences in our setups.

My butterflys are hooked up to the vaccum box and solenoid and the wires are connected to the wiring harness, but the P06 doesn't have the hardware support so the signal is never sent. I'm trying this when I get home from work:

      http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/AddIABToP28

Now they are always open, and there is never any vaccum because the solenoid is blocking it. It probably has a similar low end to your hogged out H23 manifold which by the way isn't all that bad. Theres still plenty of low end even with secondary runners open.

        hemlockz:

I think by "hogged out H23 intake manifold" you are referring to my white Accord project setup done by DH-Racing.

This red Accord project (which is what I am referring to in this thread only), has:

        short-ram intake
        H23 maxbore.com TB (67-64mm taper)
        CHR H23 ported intake manifold
CHR street ported F22 head (stock valvetrain, valve springs checked out)
        Delta 272 regrind camshaft
        Kamikazee 4-1 header
        2.25" exhaust piping
        22" long magnaflow resonator
        OBX dual-tip muffler
        B&M FPR
        Summit Racing fuel psi gauge
        Skunk2 adj. cam gear
Zeitronix wideband, Moates chip burner & datalog cable kit, Uberdata
        MRX chipped P06 ECU

haha yup. yeah that DH manifold. I hope the white car loves it as much as i do! and this setup you just listed is great. Let me know how what you think of the kamikazee because I'm pretty sure thats on my list. plus your TB... thats great. was it an H22/H23 core??

SO i just went and tried out my IABs and they still don't close. I am sure that its because of the transistor Q34 from the wiki link i posted earlier. The guy at the store said I could use an NTE103A. He was wrong. Then I thought to cannibalize my PT6 for the IAB transistor but when I opened up the accord ECU i was totally lost. I think I will just have to order one... -

Yes they are hooked up to black vaccum box, which is sealed by a solenoid so the vaccum never makes it to my IABs. Conseqently they can't get sucked closed....eh Normally the ECU would control the solenoid and trap vaccum in the black box to hold the IABs closed. Solenoid releases that vaccum at 4700 and without that vaccum pulling the IABs closed the spring is able to snap them open. So in my car, without the ECU hardware for the control of the solenoid inside the black vaccum box, my IABs are being held open by the spring.

My previous post about them opening up once I get them 'hooked up' is so wrong. it was i musta been stoned or something because they already are open all the time!! (being hooked up the box, but without ecu support.). Once i get the hardware I will be able to have them closed in my low revs.

              Kamikazee Header:

              - I like the 2.5" collector
              - Flange ports did not coincide well with primary runner ports (had to do DIY portmatch because I felt it needed it)
              - After running car with header installed, I noticed that the downpipe (just below where manifold meets downpipe flange is located) rubs against the front cross-member at times. Makes an annoying rattlingsound & vibration. I think I'm going to notch/bend the front cross-member enough to clear it totally.

              H23 Throttle-body:

              - It's an H23 TB core automatic (can be used for manual applications)
              - www.maxbore.com modified the stock H23 TB to 67-64mm taper & set TPS to stock specs (also verified the TPS works)

I think I'll start posting Delta 272 for F22ax application tuning info on the MRX chipped ECU tuning journal thread, just FYI for ya helmlockz. Makes more sense there then to take from your thread.

What the hell, I never noticed this thread.
So, Hemlockz you have an extra transitor so I can add IAB control to my P06 that MRX gave me? I haven't looked at the inside's yet, but I assume it's not setup yet.
Anything going on lately with your car/ecu?
And what the hell, someone kick me in the ass to put in my 272 grind.
