Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

sounds like a blown/leaking gasket. you might need to reorder some from DC sports. I need to do that myself.

yeah, the gasket is probably old, in which case explains the lawn mower sound.

i don't think the gaskets are that expensive.

Defintately the gasket. A good replacment gasket, if you can find it, are the copper variety. I've always had very good luck with those. Remember to torque the manifold as you would torque a head down.

How about checking the throttle cable?

ok proper procedure for putting on a header is to tighten the bolts to spec....warm car up till it reach NOT. turn car off and retighten to specs. drive for a few days and retighten to specs. make sure u use a new gasket no matter what condition old one is in....spendthe extra 15bucks to get a good one and u should be golden.
