At first I thought it may be the heat sheild, but it isn't touching any part of the exaust. Mine also made that noise before and after I took the cat. off.

Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

The problem is ever since I got the car it makes a tin can sound when it gets around 2or3000 rpms. It sounds fine when I'm just crusing easy, but as soon as I go a little quicker it sounds like crap. I've had ever thing from all stock exhaust to header straight to the muffler. Nothing seems to kepp that noise away, has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it. Now I'm thinking it may be something to do with the motor internals, which by the way is a F22A6, automatic. ???????
Your problem is not normal as mine does not do this either with OE or after I installed the Magnaflow Catback system.TBILL

I was going to suggest taking a look at the gasket in between the 2 sections of your header... when my cheap paper Chikara gasket started to blow out it made that noise...but it doesn't sound likely...def possible though...
If that's the problem just get a copper one from Napa...
Just another idea to think about...RIP Lifsatrip7

wow how ironic. ya i have a flowmaster 60 series delta flow on my car right now, itz pretty deep through the RPM's and the sounds drops off near redline cuz of frequency cancelling, i definitely noticed a difference in pull through the RPM's. i like it but am getting rid of it cuz i just dont like the single tip look. im going DTM in 5 days roughly. but ya not a bad buy if i say my self, just not for me.Members ride 15.927 @ 86.76 (f22a1)

If you don't like the single tip look, just do what I did and get a dual tip welded on there. Mine is a dual stainless that comes out and turns up a little. Click on the link in my sig and you may be able to see it. CLICK THISLast edited by Jeff405; 07-25-2004, 10:06 PM.
