Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    msd 6al vs msd sci-l

which one is better for our cars....the msd 6al...or the msd sci-l im trying to decide on which one to get..i know the L means it has a rev limiter feature...but do we really need that?..im thinking the limiter might be helpful in the future but useless for me right now....any input would help thanks.if this is a repost pls point me in the right direction...

also would the blaster ss coil be better than the msd blaster coil 2...

thanks plan on going turbo soon and want to build up my components...and get better gas mileage for the time being

Yeah same thing. I suppose the SCI was "created" to make more money on exploding import scene. I recommend the rev limiter, for like you said the future. And if you are modding your car, and I suppose you are if you're buying one of these, for a few bucks more it's worth it.
And the SS is better than the 2 as far as mounting. But they are pretty much the same internally.

i don't know. the 6al was made for U.S. V8 and V6, they don't rev as high or as fast a most JDM sport compact engine, they say it's (SCI) suited for smaller high reving engines.(F22 engine don't rev that high or that fast ether)
          but i really don't Know

thanks for the help peepz...i have just purchased the msd 6A ..non L and the blaster SS coil.... for around 150 for the 6a..if i would have bought the MSD-SCI-L i would have ran me around 250 bux

-yeah our chip already prevents are engine from reving that high anyways..thanks Cipher...

-6a and SCI same thing.--thanks wagalude

-the MSD-SCI-L seems to be some marketing tactic used to cash in on the import tuner scene...

well i just need to wait for them in the mail... and find a good place to mount them up..

                oh. ..sorry to ignore you
nah well i just like better gas mileage....and im gonna be going turbo in the future....i know turbo decreases your MPG but it would help burn the gas more effieciently <sp check> and therefore lead to more power

sometimes my car doesnt start like i want it to..since i switched to a higher viscosity oil..and switched from iridium ix to V power ngk's so im thinking this will definetaly get the engine running from a cold start with no problem....(from the reviews ive read)
                and better throttle response..

the main reason was to increase my MPG........but i beleive it will also help in my turbo buildup in the near future

You already bought your's but, I would recomend the digital 6. I've ran both the 6a, the 6al and now the digital 6. The digital 6 is a newer, better design of the 6al, with even more features.
You can setup luanch rpm, full throttle shift and even ignition retard to be turned on with nitrous, or even (Theoreticly speaking here) tune your car with some race gas, then when you run street gas, you can flip a switch and it will retard the timing, making it safe.

They do run nearly 350 bux though.
I like it, I'm using it with the blaster ss coil and all msd wires. L8r all
