Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

want more torque from F22

Budget will determine how extreme you want to go with this. Could you please state how in-depth you want to go with this so I can better help?
You have the F22a1 engine by the way, if you did not know. We already have a "stroker" type motor being that it has a 95mm stroke. So raising compression, jamming more air into the cylinders and intake/exhaust valve timing are key for torque. The higher you allow the cylinder pressures to get before full combustion, the more torque you will get.
Basically, things that will help increase torque...
Naturally Aspirated:
- header
- increased air flow
- raised compression
- camshaft
Other Options:
- turbo
- nitrous
- different geared transaxle (larger final drive will allow more torque to wheels, at the sacrifice of some top-end speed)

thx

You could mill your head and get about half a point boost in compression ratio and that will only cost you like $50 at a machine shop.
I would recomend a delta cam regrind which is about $115 shipped I believe (www.deltacams.com).
Bore out your throttle body for another $100 (www.maxbore.com).
You can probably find an a4 header from a 90-91 EX which will be better then your a1 exhaust mani.
All theses things aren't too expensive and will give you decent gains for the money. As for high flow cat, you don't want to make you're exhaust too flowing on a NA engine otherwise you will lose low end torque.
Why don't you search. in fact I know there was a thread of best mods for under $1000 somewhere.

mmmm yes the f22a1 engine .. i had one .. all a6 components (had a ex with the lx engine) .. i love the a1.. well mine at least, that torque on that a1 was awesome.. compared to my f20a(sohc) i got now. i experimented with that engine alot, definitely get a4/a6 headers or a4/a6 aftermarket headers, huge difference(in looks too) lol i also have the dual runner throttle ..i was told those were a good trottle body to have, cus i considered getting a bored throttle.. but i would go with a new throttle body .. and if u still need the quick fix.. i would go nitrous
my friends and i stuck nitrous in my f22a1 and it gave me at extra little kick .. i beat a gs-r with it so maybe that can give u a little insight on what 35 of nitrous express(2nd and 3rd gear full throttle switch) can do... and it was at a low psi, no blankey heater or anything.-:¦:-

Start with the typical mods, intake, muffler, headers. Chip the ECU if you want. I wouldn't go nitrous though, it is efficient, and not as expensive as other stuff, but its only sort of a temporary fix. Decide on what you're looking for, and your best bets are probably turbo, or engine swap. But do what YOU want to do.

I disagree that nitrous is a temporary fix. It may be if you're like every other Joe out there that views it as just the ticket they need to beat the dude that schooled them last weekend. If you buy nitrous when you're ready for it and when your engine is ready for it, then it is a perfectly OK option. That being said, on a factory or near-factory engine, it can't be your only source of added power either. Especially with the high mileage of all of our motors. A lot of what Cisco said will take you a long way. But if you opt for a camshaft, don't for get your cam gear too.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

The only real way to achieve more torque, is by going boost.
You cant increase torque figures drastically by adding an intake or an exhaust...torque comes straight from the crank...the pulling power or "turning" power. You f22a has decent torque, but the HP figures is low.
Try chaging the torque pulley, and retard/advacing the only cam the f22 has...this wont help all that much, you'll lose either in low rpm power or gain high rpm power, or vice versa...and you need a dyno or it's all based on theory.
Check your motor first, see if the internals are good to go Boost, do a comression check and then turbo that bad-boy with a mild PSI, like 5 and you'll notice a dramatic change in power...
