Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Help need some guidance

HELP!!! I dont know which way to go as far as engine. I've researched every single angle from all motor to turbo and am still confused. However for some reason i keep lingering towards the all-motor side (maybe its the port and polished f22a head sitting in my room.) For now i dont think i want to do a motor swap because of down time. I just want some opinions to kinda help steer me along. Build the f22a head, build the f22a head and turbo, try to locate a DOHC head and build it for my f20a block. Any ideas thoughts are greatly welcomed. I dont want an all out monster drag car id be happy with 180whp on an automatic tranny.

You have an auto come back after you swap it with a 5-speed then we can get into something before you come back saying that your auto tranny broke. sorry man youll be able to put more power down efficiently and get more out of it with a 5 an auto wont do much.

go all motor, def stick with stock head work, P&P, new valvetrain, and the whole works. if u go with built head, custom IM, TB and cam u should put out well over 180WHP. a stock Fblock saw on average over 60WHP gain with IM, TB, and headwork by dhracing. i'd stick with all motor. easier when u get going. if u ever want a lil more boost then u could always get some spray. but i think 180WHP expectations will easily be met! couple that with basic I/H/E and some fuel mods and u would be loooking at some freaking nice power on a stock block.

I'd like to keep the auto tranny or an equivalent auto tranny. Like i said im not going for crazy HP numbers if i can get to the 180whp range ill be good maybe get a H22 auto tranny i know people are practically giving those away. Quik question...do H22 auto tranny's come with LSD ?

is this really going to be a debate over h22/f22? cause thats just silly.we all know f22's have potential, and we all know h22's have potential its all in your driving style blah blah blha blah blah blah blah...you get the point. go wiht your heart maing...and btw, sparkles right, get a flippin 5-speed tranny in that thing.

5speed always helps...but for those who do not know how to drive a standard or don't even have the time to learn. get a heafty auto tranny. some of them are sick mf's lol i have no intention of swapping a 5speed in. lol i'm a lazy bastard. hahaha

but on the thread......if u want to go forward with the f22, great. if u want to go h22 great. whatever u choose will be a good decision, both are good blocks. either way we can help ya get the best outta your motor. whether u want turbo or N/A u came to right place. although my personal preference, which is rarely done on this site, is a N/A F22. all depends on what u r looking for, what are your driving habits, long trips?short trips?, u got some $$$$$ or do u got some $ lol, u looking for a daily driver or a racer, do u want reliability, do u want alot of tuning, can u do alot of the work yourself? all these have to be taken into account before u start a motor buildup. and lots and lots of research are to be done on each and every product u want to buy. testimonials are good too. hope this helps!

I rather see a f22 put out 180-200hp than a h22 swap. I mean don't get me wrong h22's are cool and all. but I just like f series better.

getting a h22 to 250hp is like..."so what" getting a f22 to 250hp is like "o shit damn dude" getting a f22 to 300hp "holy mf shit, i'm gonna crap myself" anything above that is freaking mad respectable. working with what ya got and not plopping in a different engine gains alot of respect in the automotive world. i still like h22's but i'll put alot of time and effort and research and thought into my f22.
