    Cam gear for cb7's....

Well folks....I have a question about cam gears, sure it's been asked and anwsered many time before but...

I'm needing a cam gear and not interested in paying for a high priced cam gear for my car(I know, I'm cheap ). I was looking around ebay for one and my two options are: OBX and Skunk.

I heard amny bad things bout OBX, but are they true?

P.S. If anybody got a good cam gear for sale for cheap, hit me up with a pm... thanks.

Dude, not to burst your bubble/downplay your tuning knowledge, but your money would be better spent on other parts. I think you can get a stock cam and have it reground by Delta for less than what it would cost for a cam gear on Ebay, and you'd make like 5 times more power...just my $.02...

As far as who to go with, AEM or Skunk2 would do fine...but seriously, like for real for real, other than looks maybe, I don't think cam gears are worth the money...

the skunk2 gear is good, but I heard the bolts are weak, so go spend $5 at your hardware store and get grade 8 bolts before you put on, its definately worth it.

and yes its not going to do that much, the money would be better spent on a cam regrind.

the reason I'm getting a cam gear is cause I milled my head, and now I need to adjust my timing.

Skunk2 are supposed to be better b/c they have 6 bolts on them instead of the others 3 or 4.

umm guys he was talking bout a cam gear not a camshaft......for cam gears, UR cam gear, AEM tru-time, or skunk2 are great products. when u deal with the engine u never want to cheap out on parts. maybe on a body kit or a wing even a led kit but not engine parts!!!!!!

i haqd a megan racing cam in my car with teh delta 272 regrind, not one bit of problem. I know people have things against megan racing becasue of the name and becasue of how new they are, but i would never go back and change. I own many megan racing parts and every one was quality!

yea, but a cam gear on a stock cam would only move the powerband up or down . . . glory was just making sure that a cam gear was gonna be WORTH it

I'm just going on what I heard. Besides $5 isn't that much to upgrade the bolts.

                              cha-ching

A cam gear will do NOTHING for ignition timing, which is what you need to be concerned about when boosting.
