Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.


The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.


For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.


Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    looking for power....need advice....

    Ok, many of you know that I have a turbo project and have recently been having problems with my car but...

    I was thinking bout messing around with my extra head I got laying around(port and polish, upgrade valvetrain..etc) and was wondering bout getting a f22 valve spring upgrade to rev upto 9k rpm.... My main concern right now would be, would stock retainers withstand this punishment? I'm trying to keep cost low, but don't want to sacrafice my engine for my cheapness.

    Please contrabrute if it worthwhile and factual... thanks.

    ok well why would u want to rev to 9k rpms?? if u really want to i have heard good things about the KMS vavetrain package.

      Since I'm going turbo, I thought I could expand my full boost power band...I heard kms valvetrain stuff doesn't fit, but could someone fill in details bout this? Oh, I was kinda planning to go with f22parts.com stuff intead of kms....

        You would need to upgrade the rods, rod bearings and rod bolts to support 9k revving. Otherwise, a rod might fly through your block.
