Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

not to be vague, but i dont see a con to vtec... other than lower gas mileage from smashing on it too much.
i see a vtec engine as the best of both worlds. when youre just cruising around town, shifting like an old lady... you can get great mileage. but when you need the power, its there. just rip on it till 8k.

i think vtec burns more oil than non-vtec motors. dont ask me how cuz i dont know. possibly oil capacity is more? not really a con but maybe on money when u gotta buy more oil LOL. also ur car gets louder when vtec kicks in... con to ppl who dont like loud cars. also one more thing to fix if it breaks. rumor has it vtec doesnt engage when the check engine light is on... which could mean less power in upper range but still maintain the good gas mileage on daily... but depending on what code is being thrown out.

vtec does burn more oil IMO because it runs off of oil pressure. i dont think this is a coincidence and yes the h22 does take more oil i changed mine today it took 5.5 quarts cost me 35$ just to change the oil92 Accord LX coupe

Yes, that is absolutely correct. I used to work at a local honda dealership and that is what we were required to put in. 5.5qts (h22's only) does sound a bit crazy but it is in fact true.Honda-Tech Username: Lostcb7
