H22A with autotragic tranny questions

OK i have a buddy with a 5th gen accord who has a JDM H22 with auto tranny swapped in. We took it to the track and with a good launch and smooth shifts he ran a 17.3. WTF?

It should have don MUCH better right?

He just swapped the USDM P13 with a JDM P13 and said it helped a little in noticeable power increase.

Any suggestions on this? He has aftermarket exhaust not sure which didn't get into that much, and a header.

Let me know of any experiences you have had and PLEASE auto H22 guys put in your input.

God, i dont know, does the car seem down on power? Is it even going into VTaK? Are you using the H22 TCU? Are his tires bald? Is it in safe mode? The car should be running somewhere in the 14's...

yea my friend with a manual h22a swap in a 5th gen sedan just ran a 14.8 at CMI in sacramento last weekend.

um is his swap running well? try the TCU and i might also check to see like scott said if its running in safe mode. i know you said its shifting well but is it revving like a normal h22?

absoultly nothing. the JDM auto and manual preludes were rated at the same 1/4 mile times, i forget what it is though.

EDIT: To be honest with you, autos are going to run better 1/4 mile times anyways, you are going to shift at the same rev's everytime. Argue that with me

100%. I run an auto LSD H22 tranny with my H22, and i wouldnt lie to you about it. The automagic's however, are going to suck for autocross, but for drag and putzing around town, i wouldnt have it any other way.

Id like to see that, yes some of the fastest cars in the world are autos, but ive yet to see a good time from an auto h22..

well down here we have compared h22`s with same setups but difference in trannies and the manual stock H22 accord ran a best of 15.00 or something close but the auto h22 accord ran 16.2`s consistantly...

just for refference my 90lx 5spd is rated at 125 horse mean while my buddys 90 exr auto with sportshift, is rated with "140hp" has the exr header and stuff, same setup and I am way faster than him!!!

auto h22 running 16's? isn't that kinda like a reg cb7?

then how can someone explain that the above?? darn.. but if people say so, then the auto is slower no doubt..but 16's?

how can 125 and 140 w/ mods differ that mucH? something doesn't sound right, especially if ur doing 1/4.
