Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

H23 vs. F22 vs. SHUT UP!!!

How much faster is an H23 compared to a F22a1? Is it really worth the swap if I just want a bit more power and quicker pick-up?, or should I just do a a6 manifold swap with new headgasket and timing belt and be happy with it?

Couldn't of been done without you guys

why not put the h23a head on the f22a? ... shameless plug hahahah you'll retain your iron sleeves.. u wont have to pull the motor (makes it easier on newbies) and u have the tuneability & better capabilites of a twin cam head (it flows more than a f22a head).. not to mention the intake manifold/throttle body are bigger than f22a componets.. oh and if ur into that whole stock look ur stock exhaust manifold will bolt up to the head..

I ask this question because I want to buy the H23 from Wagalude. Besides, wouldn't swapping the H23 head on the F22 block require modification?

well if u had the intention of buying it from waga.. then by all means be my guest.. good guy.. but.. if ur asking this question.. then that also allows me to believe ur not to keen on car mechanics and shit only these lines because if u were ud know the difference off the bat between these two motors..

          85mm vs 87mm
          sohc vs dohc
          etc

haha...go easy on him...haha...i'd say go for it, but if u want to boost i'd say ask wikked about franks, or buy an f22b...h23 is kinda that middle ground...not h22a (great na motor) and not f22b (great turbo motor). h23 is a great upgrade to the f22a but for the same price u could get a newer f22b that has less miles. just my 2 cents

Yes...all are noticeable differences and worth the swap. You need to decide on what your futur goals are. If you are just looking for another engine then swap the h23 for the low end tq. I loved it before I decided to head swap.

                    ^ yeah, what he said...lol.
im about to block post my extra block and i got a set of custom pistons on the way with rings, etc.

but as for the choice i say.... if u are a tuner like must of us, and do modifications for yourself and the respect of others, go with the head swap....to get mad props, but if your not to concern about all that and just wanna swap and call it a day, get the whole h23 motor
