Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

What parts would be needed for 20psi engine build

sometime this upcoming summer im planning on building an f22a turbo machine.

heres what im thinking. the f22b dohc head on f22a6 block bored to at least 2.4 liters. I plan on getting a small enough turbo to spool at almost idle or idle (1500) rpms. my main goal is to build a torque monster, one that could compare to the v8 punch that is felt off the line. For the build exactly what parts am i going to need. i have a general idea but i need an exact list.
Also what horsepower and torque will i be looking at. my goal is over 240 torque. thanks david

Edit: also what prices am i looking at

any small turbo will be pointless.

look at some compressor maps, you need something that flows alot of cfm's, and that's gonna be a pretty big turbo.

well that'd be if he wanted the high hp but he's going for low-end torque. And at 20psi i'm more than sure he can hit that even on a small turbo...it might be at like 4000rpm and be at like 160hp by redline but still lol. If ur boring to 2.4 liters i would think u'd want to look into sleeving unless u plan to somehow stroke the crank or whatever. You'll also want to think about investing in head bolts, engine management, a hotter ignition system, and of course forged rods and pistons.

Food for thought...i have a t3/t04e that creeps into positive manifold pressure by about 1700rpm in a 4th gear pull. Full boost by 3200rpm...kick in the face a bit before 4000rpm. What i'm trying to say is just because the turbo is spooled and ur at a high psi low in the rpm range doesn't mean your making much power down there still. U gotta do compressor map calculations and pick a turbo that has max. efficiency at the rpm range u want.

im in the middle of hooking up my f22a/b hybrid for prob about 14 psi this summer...im going withthe forged internals and all that good shit. I also have some turbos for sale, on huge one from a 6.5liter v8, that would def be able to give you 20 psi, also a definate kick in the pants! I also have a t3 which has been a fairly decent size for a 4 banger...as far as u looking for such a small turbo that will spool at idle, i dont have nothing for ya, but when i did have a turbo on my car last summer i was running an ihi rhb5 and it spooled as fast as i could put the petal to the floor with almost no lag...
