Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    n/a build

so ive been looking on the fourm at others build and trying to decide what i wanted to do and i decided i wanted to go n/a right now and get to somthing around 200 hp. i looked at bismoto and my wallet ran away so i started shopping around and got my advice on intakes and have decided to go with a ebay intake with aem dry flow. and im going to get a p12 ecu as well. now im to compiling my exhaust list together. since i cant find my wallet when i look at bismoto i started looking and found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MEGAN...item519620f521 its a megan header any one have any advice on these? i was also looking at a magnaflow cat and i have all new 2.25 piping in the back so for muffler i was looking at a flowmaster delta 60.

does this look like a good start?

"N/A build" means ripping your engine apart and building it to make power N/A

Putting some basic bolt-ons on it does not equal "N/A build"

You are looking at a 15hp gain MAX with a cheap header/exhaust and p12. An intake doesn't do much.

The flowmaster delta is going to be a loud muffler. You are better off buying a complete cat-back from ebay for 120

something around 200hp = you will need headwork/cam at the very least or an H22 swap.

200 hp can be done.. but you need some deep pockets for that kinda of build.
        cb7 rebuild coming soon!

Swap in the H22 and there's your 200hp. Granted that's at the crank but still. If not then you'll need a cam, header, exhaust, ecu, intake, p&p, valvetrain, a good tune, and who knows what else lol. It's possible to get it done but it's going to take some money man. You would probably come out cheaper and making more horsepower with a dsm turbo setup.

It's really not that far to reach for 200 whp, but unless you shell out for the bisimoto header, you're going to need a cam.

I've got a stage one cam, IHE, p12 and I'm at 165 whp. Still on the a1 IM. I have the bisimoto intake heatshielding gasket waiting to go on with the a6 runners and h23 plenum and TB. I expect to pick up 15-20 hp from that, easily (The gasket alone is 7 hp on the stock motor). A PnP on the head and I should be well over the 200 point.

You're still at <9:1 compression, VP? I don't think you'll get anywhere near 200whp on any normal dyno with what you're listing. Just call me a cynic, but that's my opinion8. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

Onelivinlarge, it sounds like you're kind of new to the tuning game. Look for a JDM H22A swap and a quiet 2.5" exhaust from the final header collector back. It's relatively cheap, it's reliable, it's easy to make pass emissions and it's very streetable.

              VTEC G27? = ???whp ???wtq
              VTEC G23 = 220whp 191wtq
              nonVTEC G23 = 200whp 183wtq
              K24 iVTEC hybrid = 260whp 210wtq

Yes, DSM compressor, DSM 450's, and chipped ECU of your choice on your F: way cheaper to make more than 200 HP than an N/A build. Plus, you wouldn't have to pull your motor out to replace it with an H or put high compression pistons in your F to reach your goals.

                Bottle would also be cheaper.

To the best of my knowledge it's still <9:1. I also didn't know it had a cam in it for a few years.
The wife is talking about the possibility of getting me a bisi header with part of our taxes. If it happens, that, the IM and gasket swap should push me over the 200 point without the PNP. You'll know when I start turning 14s instead of 15s off the bottle.
