    Exhaust help

Here is my setup.. sounds like bees going wild when i accelerate

2.5 mandrel bend kteller (would not to again)
    carsound cat
    magnaflow muffler
    kamikase header
    resonator(about 12 inch)

It sounds fine at idle, but when i get on it.. it is way to damn loud. Even at 3k, its too loud for my tastes. Someone else had the same EXACT setup except with 2.5 crush tubing, and it sounded nice. Any ideas on how to get it to not sound like crap? Help me out.. I just want to sell the car now instead of being seen in a fart cannon.

Well there, is one resonator on there. The muffler shop said it really wont make much of a difference. And it really didnt. There went another 75 bucks. They suggested a turbo muffler, so we will see.

and just as my day couldnt get any worse... someone got into my email/aim and changed my password I guess thats what i get.. i've only had it for over 6 years and havent changed the password.

        LOL at the aim thing.

Why wont you buy the kteller exhaust? what was wrong with it?

i added a straight through glasspack on mine when i took out the cat. Turbo muffler is similar to that, from what carlos sais..

Well.. first, I thought he had good customer service.. but he really dont give a shit. This was before the exhaust, and now.. when he doesnt respond.

and after paying 200 for a set of "PRE-BENT" exhaust pipes, you wouldnt think you would have to pay for an hour at a muffler shop getting them to fit correctly. Yes, they had to modify them more for them to fit.

I wanted to buy the nice steering wheel off him also.. thankfully I found they have the same one on ebay for cheaper

I'm in the same boat as you dude. 2.25" Catback with carsound cat, 18 inch resonator, and a obx R muffler w/silencer.

My car sounds like absolute crap, and I have no clue how to fix it, Im afraid of getting a new muffler, because I don't want it to be too loud. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

ps: do turbo mufflers silence the exhuast tone more?

                      i got:

                      -Focuz 4-2-1 header
                      -no cat
                      -2.25 crush exhaust
                      -magnaflow muffler
                      -18" glasspack

it only sounds ricey in the upper R's for me... prolly after 4k... but even then its quiet... i love going in 2nd gear and going up to about 4k and then just releasing the gas... i love that nice clean deep sound

turbo-mufflers are designed to quiet the exhaust system.. they do help a lot but in the end your looking at loosing horsepower and torque... is it really worth it? maybe to some but its all about performance to me.. if you want it deeper, get an ebay muffler thats an oval muffler with a 4" tip.. the way ebay designs mufflers is cheap.. but that cheap means louder the way the inside of the muffler is flowing... i used to have an ebay muffler and it was deep as hell.. i didn't like it.. now mines got the ricey sound up top but its quiet and its only deep when i want it to be.

Looks like i'll try a turbo one then. Right now, i would much rather have a slight loss in HP and torque and have a quieter sounding car. I wasnt sure about doing one.. but they ordered me a 2.5 center in, center out one, so hopefully that'll do the trick.

Anyone interested in a 2.5 magnaflow? Its a straight through design, sounds nice. Paid 100, would let go for cheaper obviously.
