Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Basic Indexing

Can anyone briefly explain to me how I can index my plugs? Since they sit down so far out of sight the only thing that is coming to mind is mark the end of my extention with a marker on the open side of the plug and see where the mark is when the plug is tight or close to being tight.

Do you use a washer or just tighten it to where it is close to being correct? I don't want some shit falling in my cylinders lol.

My uncle mentioned this to me a long time ago and I am just now getting to where I care enough to mess with such thing. It must help some, but can anyone give me an idea as to how much this will help burn all the fuel dispersed to each cylinder? Will it be noticable?

I am doing it anyway, but hey...

You're not going to notice it. Indexing on our vertically inserted plugs doesn't do much. At most, you'll see 1 hp at the crank. It's much better suited to engines such as V8s since the plug goes in at an angle to the combustion chamber itself. Indexing allows you to expose the spark point to more of the chamber by not "hiding" the spark behind the electrode bar. In our engines it's evenly exposed no matter where the electrode is turned.
