Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

The only problem with Gutting a your kat is when you have an aftermarket exhaust when ever you let go of your gas pedal your going to have and loud sound.....

its called backfire. you will also lose some torque. you wont gain enough hp to even bother. leave that shit in there. save the environment- think about your kids. that shits in there for a reason bro, leave it.
buckle up and enjoy the ride

i had mine punched out and it didnt add much sound at all. although i have an apex ws exhaust which is very quiet to begin with.

having it hollowed will increase flow a little but unless you have an aftermarket exhaust it wont do you much good to increase cat flow just to have it choked by a stock catback.

and of course, if you do punch it out... depending on where you live, you will need to get a new one to pass smog.

just get a test pipe off of ebay... like 40 bucks. whenever you go in for SMOG inspection, slap on your oem cat. converter... simple enough.

accordtuner hit the nail on the head.

Why ruin a 60 dollar cat, when you can buy a 40 dollar test pipe?
