Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

74 to 68 mm tb on stock h22a

Hello, I was just wondering if you guys though I would loose too much performance running a 74 tapered to 68 mm tb on a stock internal h22a.

    H22a
    Euro-R IM.
    RDX Injectors
    Bisi Intake gasket.
    Stock JDM Header
    60mm Cat back.
    Chipped p28

I will be running the Bisimoto h22 header in the near future.... assuming the group buy happens.

I am aware of people who have had issues with too large of tb, but I haven't seen the issue be prevalent with h22's

Let me know what you think.

My first question to you is if it has been tuned since the TB has been installed, If not and you are still running stock map and stock tip in fuel then yes I would imagine it is much slower at low rpm's

EDIT: I read your post wrong, I read that the bigger tb made it worse, instead of the stock one. Thanks for the input!

im pretty sure, if you get at least a ebay header you'll see some gains

195whp gains, i know it maybe a lot, but, you have almost all of the intake part taken care already

stock JDM header will limit that engine, mostly because of the downpipe

                Header size

The jdm header is actually pretty good. I would compare it to a cheap ebay header in terms of flow, and much better in quality. I agree I need a new header, but I am not going to get one until either the bisi group buy or until its gains have been shown.

H22's love big TB's. Bore out the manifold to around 70mm if you can.

                    Manifold

The manifold will be bored to 68mm. Rosco and I discussed 70 and he said that If I am planning on running IACV to only do 68mm. He has never used the Polar Bear tuning 74-68 before so I am going to get it and let him see it.
