Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Yonaka intermediate shaft

I'm considering replacing my intermediate shaft (has a very tiny clicking sound when turning) and found this on ebay: Yonake Prelude intermediate shaft

It's made for the H22 evidently but will it work on the F22 block/tranny and, if so, what driver's axle would I need? Is the Prelude axle the correct length?

You'd be paying 120 for that with shipping and everything. I'd just get one from somewhere local to you. You'd pay less and get it quicker. Plus you'd have everything taken care of quicker if you ever needed any warranty work handled.

Neither Napa or Advance has them listed online. Autozone's site has "halfshaft" listed but has them for every model and type of combo which makes no sense because there is no left or right halfshaft. Neither do any autos or the 10th anniversary edition have halfshafts but autozone has them listed for those models which makes me not trust their intelligence.

I assumed you have ABS. If not or if you just want to see the page I pulled it from here's the link.

If you would rather get it from Advance here's the link to their page lol.

That is NOT what he is looking for. He is looking for the intermediate shaft. This part is rarely replaced.

If you got that though, I would say you would need probably a 5th gen axle because they have a male end for the hub and a female for the half-shaft.

Son of a bitch I read over that entirely wrong lol.

EDIT: I called both Napa and Advance and they don't carry it and can't get it. I've had it happen before where parts just weren't on their website but they had them in their computer. This wasn't the case. He said you could call around to local shops that work on clutches and normally they'll rebuild them for you. Either that or possibly pull it out of a junkyard but I wouldn't trust that option.

Yeah, the H22 and F22 intermediate shafts are identical. Length, mounting holes, everything.

I'd recommend just going to the junkyard and grabbing one for roughly 10 bones. That's what I've done in the past whenever I was in need of one.

Interesting, tonight I just ordered parts to rebuild my intermediate shaft. I too noticed Majestic Honda online or auto parts stores do not carry a reman/new intermediate shaft.

It's cheaper anyhow to order the circlips, two seals, bearing and rebuild it (Majestic Honda). Never had to do it before, but doesn't look bad. I know the bearing is out in mine, too much play and I'm getting vibrations (not from either CV shaft).

I also replaced the seals on mine with the 5spd swap last summer but didn't touch the bearings so I was thinking the bearings may be going bad and causing the light clicking noise.

Turns out I got a bad "NEW" driver's side axle from Advance. Took it back for a full refund and purchased a reman from Napa for less $$ and it drives great. The rubber boots on the Napa remans look much higher quality than those on the Advance units fwiw.

This is about the 3rd or 4th time I've purchase either a new or reman cv axle from Advance only to have them bad right out of the box. And then if they aren't bad directly out of the box, the rubber boot cracks open within one year spilling all the grease.
