Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

i too liked and had the ws1, never seen the rsr in person... but it looks like a fancy stock exhaust, which is what people want if they get it.

i opted to go for a 2.5" headerback and a 3" straightthru muffler... eventually we'll see if it made a difference.

HAHAH you think RSR is a fancy stock exhaust, will a stock exhaust allow flame to be created, no.

trust the ones who have seen and heard the RSR in person. it's far from a fancy stock exhaust
I liked it because it looks *stockish* but has a very nice mellow tone to it.

I have an RS*R on my car and have for about 5 years now. I can say this. They are THE BEST. Nice and mellow at low RPM's. And they are still nice and deep in the top end. Still, they are never loud, they match the tone of the intake perfectly. Keep in mind too, I still have a stock intake on my car. The RS*R is a little louder, but when I had my AEM cold air on, the intake was ALWAYS louder. Around town, you can hear it on acceleration, but that is it. You don't hear it at cruising (up to110) and the only time you hear it above 60 is if you floor it.

It is not restrictive at all, it has a straight through muffler with a perforated core. You can see past the muffler with the right flashlight angle. It also has 2.33" piping which is a good compromise between 2.25 and 2.5.

The reason it still manages to be quiet is mainly because the muffler itself is HUGE. It barely fits in the stock location. It pretty much runs from the back axle to the inside of the bumber. In a side picture, you see nothin but muff. It also has a large resonator in the same place the stock one once was.

Construction quality is superb. I have put 100,000 miles on mine and it still shines up like new. Keep in mind, mine is all stainless and polished to the B pipe, which they don't make anymore. My B pipe is stainless, but it is basically coated with the same ceramic coating that is on the new ones up to the tip. It was a bolt on and forget item with no fitment issues whatsoever.

Pluses? Everything. I have had guys that have been tuning Honda's for decades remark what a nice exhaust it was, not to mention the curious tuners that want to know who made it. I once had a guy follow me to my destination so that he could ask me about it.

Minuses? They are pricey, but not overpriced, and they are hard to find ( I think that is a good thing). Also, like most nice aftermarket exhausts, the backpressure at idle is so low that it causes the infamous soot to collect on the rear of the car. It might be worse than a WS2 because the tip is flush with the bumper so the exhaust is dumped right there. Nothing that regular washing can't cure though.

I would do it again in a heartbeat, if I could.

I will try to find some pics to post up, and maybe I will attempt to get some good sound recordings off of it.

There, I think that makes this an official review thread.

Well obviously, I haven't really been looking lately...but I got mine from Options Auto Salon. Maybe try the RS*R website and call everyone on the dealer list... You never know. Besides it took me awhile to find mine and trust me. It was worth the wait.

Here is a link to a couple of pics.

I didn't really have a lot of good ones of the exhaust, so I will try to get more when I am home for Thanksgiving. My dad just LOVES to take pictures with his camera.

Let me think about how to get some good sounds with what I have, and I will try to upload those as well.

I hope you don't think I was getting all bent out of shape about the muffler, I was simply answering the guys question. You can pretty much expect to find a perforated core, straight through muffler on any decent exhaust system, except maybe some Flowmaster's. But hey with 502 c.i.d. who needs a straight through muffler?

Yes, it does look kind of like a fancy stock exhaust, and yes, that is one of the reasons I bought it. Except the full polish part of course. It is very funny to watch all of the Ricers around here give me the weirdest looks. They know that it isn't stock, but they can't figure out why they can't hear it like they can their cannonball firebombs. Most of them won't really mess with me because it is so "stealth" that I must be packing in the hood dept. The local rednecks always appreciate it too because they see it and expect my car to make tons of noise, but it doesn't.

I have only dealt with them twice, but they were awesome. They knew their stuff. It definitely wasn't one of the places that thinks the only Honda's are Civics and Integras. The guy I dealt with for the exhaust was Oscar, may have been the owner, don't know. I wasn't sure I REALLY REALLY wanted to buy it, so he basically talked to me about the pluses and minuses, etc. Awesome service. I may have gotten the last all stainless one for CB7's in the states, because it was shortly after RS*R announced they were leaving in '99 and supply wasn't very large back then either.

Anyway, RS*R's site has every one of their dealers on there. That should keep you busy for awhile.
