Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    nitrous

how much would 75 shot nitrous cost me...and will my engine get messed up using it, also is it hard to install?

    i have a 93 lx manual

    edit: my car is stock.

If you dont know how to install it, or if it would brake your engine then dont get it, you are getting WAY ahead of yourself. You clearly should wait, especially if you dont understand how it works. Relax and read some books, stop watching fast and furious, and research! thats the most important, Why dont you tell us why you believe nitrous is the best thing for you at this stage in your performance enhancements?

Because I just read the thread on the kid with $500 and they said best bang for you buck is nitrous...why is it everytime someone says nitrous you have to bring up fast and furious...shut up. i know how nos works, but i dont know if my engine would handle it, and i wanna know the cost, and how the hell would i know how to install it...we all start somewhere. so dont criticize, just answer my questions, otherwise dont speak. kthx

thast not my point, im not saying your a nooooobie, the reason i bring fast and furious up is because people often get ideas from that and there like i need 2 tanks of nos, thast it. NOW if you want to run nitrous i strongly suggest getting a compression check, making sure all your systems are functioning in top condition and that you have some type of monitoring system, if one thing goes wrong you wont know untill the damage is done. now THE REASON I WAS YELLIING AT YOU IS because your a fellow cb7tuner and i DONT want to see your engine go to garbage because someone said its the best bang for the buck. Now do you race a lot, cause i hope you dont plan on whipping around town spraying for shits and giggles.?
But if you want to be ignorant, by all means buy a 75 kit install it in your intake and go drive around and hit the button. have fun.... i apologize cause im a noobie at car tuning. o wait im not.

Nah I appreciate the help, but people judge to quick alot when it comes to car tuning. I'm not a complete noob, but I still have alot to learn. I don't like that fast and furious shit. i dont rev at every car i see and try to streetrace. But i will be racing, maybe once every couple weeks, maybe more. I'll check the compression soon and make sure everything is working fine. I'm probaly gonna wait until i clean the engine up and do some maintinance that i've been putting off. Cause i don't really have $500 yet...but i wanna know what i need to save for, and how much the 75 shot will cost me overall. and what kind of performance gains i should expect. My car is LX, 125HP, plus i have an intake. so what will i be looking at with the spray?

well i cant say what your power loss will be a lot of people argue 15% etc, but around 150 or little more at the wheels, for about 13 sec MAX, now if you ask me that isnt very noticable and i can tell you now it isnt, and using it on a stock motor might not be too smart, it really isnt worth it, i mean there are other things you want too like different plugs, maybe new ignition or aftermarket one, if you want to go bigger shot feul management and fuel pump, injectors ect, 75 shot is a lot on a smotor but its nothing in terms of gains, what tends to happen is people get addicted and there liek o we can run a larger jet ect before you know it you have a 300 shot and you blow your motor like my boys rx7.

I thought you said you were knowledgable about cars?? You are lying to yourself or someone then ... Nitrous Express kits are rated in wheel horsepower so a 75 shot will get you 75 horsepower with correct bottle temperature and what not. Lx manuals tend to make around 110 stock to the wheels give or take a little so he would be looking at maybe 180 to the wheels.

they cant measure wheel horsepower man its different with everycar, i was saying 15% loss due to trannsmision and clutch, it isnt gauranteed that he will make 180 whp, i dont care what you say it isnt gauranteed, especially if you dont haev a healthy motor.
