can the fifth gear from a accord fit prelude tranny??

just wondering if it has been done before? i heard of people doing it with b series trannies, if it could be done i think it would be the best of both worlds....

It could work i think, but if you did that, you'd have to stick with an accord transmission like the T2T4, or the U2Q7 both of which are LSD, i don't think prelude and accord trannys can go back and fourth

you can do this, and you can interchange parts between accord and prelude transmissions. you would have to get the main shaft 5th gear and the matching counter shaft gear more than likely.

I think this has been discussed before and it wont work.
If I remember correctly you need to get a custum gear made, although I could be wrong.

Theyre the same. Take a look at the Engine and Transmission specs sticky in the Swaps section. The only real difference between the H and F transmissions is the final drive.

Internal parts aren't interchangeable. The only thing I have found that's interchangeable is the final drive... I've been researching this for like almost a year.. I don't want to go out and actually try my self since I've got no time for it...

actually some part numbers are the same. some shafts are the same as others. synchro sets were the same.

also this guy did f23 gear into h23, works with no probs. i really think its just a matter of same styled trans.

I've never looked around honda tech.. I hate that place...

i got part numbers from online honda dealer/parts places. i hate HT too, but i found the HT thread through google. that HT thread is just to show that its been done.

i posted a thread, prob a couple days after this one also. i have a jdm accord trans, the H2J4 which is geared imo between an h23 and h22, and wanted the f22 5th for highway. i know jose will chime in again lol, love ya jose.

so i began research, researching the f22 trans interiors, h23 interiors blah blah blah, looked on google. figured to my self, i have an accord trans, why wont a f22 gear fit? i think it will.
