Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

No, just a bare plenum with no sensors, TB or anything but the plate: linky

    Appreciate it though

Make your own, no products out there to my knowledge.

There is one benefit to blocking off this valve and it is if you have an aggressive enough camshaft that this valve in stock form can cause a vacuum leak. You have to block off this valve on more aggressive cams to have more consistent idle and be able to set it accordingly.

Well until I find a block-off plate or make one, this should do! I had an extra boost valve laying around and found some 3/8" x 24 plugs hidden in my tool box and......

Threaded in very snugly with blue RTV on the threads to seal and lock them! It's raining and nasty today but I'll get it installed soon.

Great idea^^^what if you cut/grind the excess and just leave plate, and plugs would from inside.

I thought about that but as wed3k said, it would take alot of time, AND these plugs already stick beyond where the cutoff would be so it'd look funky.

I tig welded mine up, then sanded it smooth, along with the bolt holes. Looks great. Almost any fab shop should be able to do it for less than 25 bux.

Blocking off the air-starting valve will not make a significant difference in start ups, I know first-hand. It is beneficial to block it off somehow, as it will be the cause for a vacuum leak if you get any aggressive enough aftermarket camshaft. This will result in an inconsistent idle/surging. Less headaches in future, when setting idle with an aftermarket camshaft.

i made one, along with an egr block off plate, and 2 other ones, but i have no clue what they are called! one is under the h23 throttle body, and one replaces the big thing to the left of the air boost. i will probably find out pretty soon if my engine will run with it blocked, i am putting it all back together tonight. anyway, here's a picture:

I would still run the IACV, engine won't run right and the ECU will throw a CEL
                        wat?

what does the IACV do? it looks like it jsut has coolant lines running in and out of it with some kind of solenoid or sensor?

                            It controls your idle.
