Good condition radiator cap that actually works, is key as well.

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

personally, i would just use a 50/50 water and coolant mix. later.
So idk, I live in AZ, where it gets HOT in the summer.....almost near death valley temps hot. And cold in the winter but not below I'd say 35*. I'm just looking for something that'll cool my car better. My temp needle seems to fluctuate to 3/4 sometimes, making me weary of stuff.

Water weter works by increasing the water's surface tension so that it can effectively absorb (and dissapate) heat much more efficiently... Its NOT simply soap and thats one of the most ridiculous things ive yet heard to do ( or at leastused for a similarity or likeness - although I know you were kidding)....LOL.... You were weren't you???
Anyways is the Sikolene the stuff in the "can"??? Ive heard really good shit about that too...Last edited by Supergenius; 06-23-2008, 03:46 PM.750 WHP/575 TQ CD5 Raping a street near you....

Its the pressure that keeps the water from boiling.

Actually, antifreeze DOES raise the boiling point by about 12*, the increase in pressure also helps raise the boiling point. Look it up.Originally posted by sweet91accordif aredy time i need to put something in cb7tuner. you guy need to me a smart ass about and bust on my spelling, gramar and shit like that in so sorry.

Hmmm Im gonna have to. Plain water disapates heat better than even a 50 50 of water and anti freeze...... The pressure is whats primarily responsible.... But if im wrong im wrong.... IT happens
EDIT: I stand corrected on that.... Learn something everyday.
""respectively, "colligative agent" more accurately describes the liquid both lowering and raising freezing and boiling point.""
Bottom line is that the water wetter works better than water by itself. with Anti freeze, or 50 50 with the weter...
Just use the wetter in plauin water. I used it with antifreeze (i was lazy)... Then flushed it and used just water and wetter and saw an additional 10 degrees cooler in addition to the original 8ish i got.

but adding this stuff to coolant also works right? Or what should I do? just distilled water and this stuff?
I'm kinda afraid to use Arizona tap water b/c its heavily deposited w/ minerals.

Use distilled + the wetter... IT WILLL LOWER YOUR TEMP MORE THAN HAVING ANY COOLANT IN IT.

I don't know if you're serious or not, customchord, but I'm thinking you aren't kidding.
Ethylene glycol has two purposes:
1. Gaurantees fluid doesn't turn into ice under harsh winter conditions.
2. Prevents coolant from reaching boiling point in extremely hot conditions.
Antifreeze/Coolant takes longer to heat up and resist freezing MUCH better than water.
I'm sorry if this is obvious to everyone, but I merely wish to discredit the aforementioned statement about using water instead of coolant.
Losiracer2 have you tried using a colder thermostat or taking the thermostat out so the coolant is flowing the minute you start the car?-1991 Honda Accord LX H22a-
