Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

s2k vs rsx muffler

RSX is suppose to be a better muffler, especially the 05-06 as it is very similar to the Integra Type-R's in Japan. Yes I know the rsx is the integra, but Honda didnt modify it that much when they brought it over here.
S2k apparently people believe has less flow as it has two mufflers for a 240hp car which equates to 120hp of flow per muffler(dont know if that makes sense) but the rsx has only one muffler for 210.
Overall you wont get a lot of performance from either as they're very restricting. The exhaust has to loop around the muffler to get out. here's a picture of a cut rsx muffler. People have run this muffler on their civics and older integras and it's never sounded that bad.
If only the exhaust tip didnt have that stack behind it would that muffler be good to go. Judging from that pic I think you could try to slice that stack just enough to allow the exhaust out faster.
I was going to run 2.25" custom piping with a resonator to the 05-06 rsx muffler but after I saw that picture I didnt like the fact I wouldnt get that much performance; even though any bolt on for the F is minimal I found a more free flowing muffler for a little more(Greddy Evo;thanks David).
And the I believe the last gen Accord uses the s2k muffler, not the 2008.Last edited by ikayto; 06-06-2008, 05:43 AM.

thats what im fucking talking about......pix and all. the RSX makes sense being the better choice.
im not worried about performance, ive got a greddy header running too an e-cut out. i want the tone when its closed.
id still liek too hear from yall running either.
a friend of mine said hed trade the left s2k muffler for my extra h22 valve cover. id just give it too him, but illl take it anyway. i still might buy an rsx muffler.
fuck it ill run both!!! s2k left, rsx right.....thats how i roll.....
totally kidding, lol.

i was backing into a drive way and smashed one of my tips (ex model) into the muffler. so i decided too run one of those. my buddy just brought up the idea of the new new civic si's muffler too. as of now its what i can get my hands on, but he sent me a pic and it looks bulky. ill check it tomorrow and if i like it, ill prolly polish it up a bit.

buddy of mine is running the s2k on his 4dr and hes boosted.. weither its restrictive or not.. sure.. but does it keep his noise decel down.. hell yes. u cant hear his coming unless he mashes the throttle and spool up begins..
i personally would take either of the mufflers.. open them up.. and remove the loop arounds.. just leave both entry and exit.. (not welded together so it fully bypasses the muffler though) just so that the exhaust gases go
-----inlet-----(..............................)-----outlet------
simple enough?

since you have an ecut out.. then i think you should just take the s2k muffler your friend is trading with you. Those are nice sized tips for the cb
off topic: do you have a pic of how / where you ran your ecut out?

By saying that the RSX exhaust supports up to 210hp and the s2k exhaust supports up to 120hp...well, that's almost a 100hp difference. The relative size of the mufflers, however, aren't too different. You can't say that an RSX exhaust will allow more airflow just because it's normally a single set-up.
IMO, oem exhaust setups don't make too much of a difference between each other. You'd probably see an, at most, 1-2whp difference, if that, between two oem exhausts.
