Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

so the cai is out of the question for me since i drive a lot. no floadings around here but i don't want to risk it anyway. i am looking to buy the short ram but the thing is i work as driver with my honda. this means that the engine bay is very very hot.
if i install a short ram will this heat do anything to it or will i have any problems with the engine etc?
are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

nope the heat will not do anything, a cai would be better for cooller air but a short ram will not hurt your engine at all.

i never had my car tuned with a shortram, but after being tuned with the cai... i do notice a difference without it. although im sure it helps alot since my motor isnt stock. mods always compliment eachother.

wtf.. first off like other people have stated.. you have to be pretty much retarded to hydro lock your engine... i've driven in WINTER with my CAI on.. no problems, i've driven through puddles and got my filter soaked, no problems.. this was on my civic

you have to basically suck in a quart of water constantly to hydro lock your engine..

          also:
short ram - better throttle response... MAY feel faster because the same power is being produced throughout the powerband, hot air

cold air intake - cooler air, tad less low - mid power than short ram but in the top end it pulls a lot better.

and wtf is this 1 - 3 whp for a CAI??? thats pretty sad then.. might as well go stock, seen a dyno chart of a civic 1.6L with a SHORT RAM gain 3whp.... and on a 2.2L it should respond to modifications a lot better.

          go CAI IMO..

ps - feel your filter on the short ram after a drive.... its a heatsink, good luck to your choice.
